Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) ECM Proplem ?

I think I have a ECM. problem.



The check eng. light is on and the Auto Zone scan tool will not reset it.

The code it reads is 1693 (DTC in ECM & PCM).



Several questions.



! What are the symptoms of a bad ECM?



2 Will the "smarty" act as a scan tool read coeds reset them?



3 What is the best scan tool for our truck ?

1693 is just a companion code, meaning there are other codes set.



Yes, Smarty reads and clears codes and adjusts for ocersize tires.



And lots more low end power and torque.
