FASS Owners, CHECK YOUR PRESSURE!!!

I had an install of an Edge Attitude kit on a 99 Dodge Ram this weekend. I feel I have a pretty well equipped shop, and have a good knowledgable background doing installs...

Why is it that I have to debate the timeframe of an Attitude install with a customer? Edge makes it pretty hard for vendors/shops that also do installs on working out the labor for installing this Attitude Kit.

I have a question and challenge for the Einstien who proportedly put right on the box cover the words: EASY 10 minute install.

I want to see someone from Edge complete this feat in the 10 minutes they claim, right on the front of the box. NO WAY IS THIS POSSIBLE. If Edge says yes -then PROVE IT.

How are install shops able to justify that it takes longer then the 10 minutes posted right on the front of the box????

This, I feel, is false advertising. If Edge feels differently then I say prove that from start to finish -someone- anyone -can install this kit in the 10 minutes that they have posted on the box...

These 4 words are hurting the installation shops- I am sure of this.

So tell me why put something on the cover of your product that is NO WAY TRUE? Which in turn hurts the shops that are supporting their products?

Anyone else see these 4 words and come out confused like I did?

I am not in the business but I noticed that on the box as well. I previously had gauges for my install so I didnt have to drill and tap for the pyro or find a spot for my fp guage, and it still took much more than 10 minutes. It was relatively easy but it was not ten minutes.

On this install the guy DID NOT have any of the gauges installed before, so we had to drill and tap the manifold, which when properly done- you are drilling slow with a shop-vac nozzle right next to the bit sucking out the bits of metal as you drill... .

The job pretty straight forward. But even if there was gauges in the truck before- NO WAY IS THAT KIT GETTING INSTALLED, CORRECTLY-NEATLY and PROPERLY IN A TRUCK... IN TEN MINUTES!

Why would they even think of putting that on the box??

Not even a hack job -without concern for the wires being routed neatly and securely away from hot parts or parts that would chaffe the wiring, could this kit be installed and operating in 10 minutes... .....

You don't, its your business and you set the price right? The price should be based on what it costs you to do business, below that and you loose money so its better then not to do the job at all and work on something else.

Just roll your eyes at that statement on the box

It took me about 10 minutes to plug in the Edge EZ on my 01. Maybe it's a continuation of a earlier product. Maybe the ten minute time is just to plug in the unit. Who knows what the marketing folks are thinking. Maybe they don't drive diesel trucks? Sensationalism in advertising? Do you get many challanges from many customers? The less informed or experienced providing most of it or does it come from all sides?

Even plugging in the Attitude shouldn't take ten minutes or much more than. But the manifold still has to be drilled and tapped and the probe installed and wiring routed. Certainly not a 10-min job for even the most experienced. I have no idea where that comes from other what I said previously.

I could do the basic Juice module with the three position switch in ten minutes but that is about it. If you don't install the attitude then you don't install the pyro probe either. I just installed the J/A on my 06 and it took me about 10 minutes just to install the ignition connecter in the steering column.

I charge one hour of labor ($65) for an install of the Edge Juice on the 98-02 Dodge.

It takes about that, as you have to drill and tap the pyro, remove a banjo for the FP sender, install the trans temp sender, and run the wire to the fuse block both under the hood and in the dash, as well as run the attitude wire out of the cab, to the juice module.

The first customer balked a little at the price, but he stood there and watched me do the install, and after seeing what all had to be done, he was pretty gratefull I only charged one hour.

I personally think the Juice w/ Attitude for the 7. 3 is the hardest install, and the Duramax the easiest to install.
