Edge Attitude Surge & Fade?

Hey all,



Running an Edge on an 03 with a 6spd, over the last month I have experienced occasional "surging" i. e. unwanted fueling when cruising in the 1900 to 2000 rpm range.



Now it is pretty much anytime I'm in that rpm range the engine surges & then fades to sort of a de-fueled "coasting" mode, the fuel then kicks back in and rockets off again.



I can get rid of the "symptoms" by lowering the setting to "0".



I am assuming I need to send the unit back for an "Attitude adjustment" (sorry )



I just want to see if anyone else has experienced this & fixed it w/o sending the unit back.

I havent experienced this on my set up - Ive had it for a year now. I would at least call Edge about it.

i had the same problem. i called edge and they reflashed it and well i havent put it back on yet, but you should call edge they have the best customer service!

I had that exact problem before. They sent me a new one and a shipping label to put on the box to send the old one back. I got tired of doing this and got a TST. As said before edge's customer service is outstanding. I just wish their product was as reliable as their customer service.

I am having the same problem right now. I have also noticed when it is on setting 1 that it will flash back and forth from 1 to 0.

I need to call them myself.

Guess I will be calling the Edge sevice department today...



Makes me kind of wish to go back to the "simpler" days of loud injector pumps and camplates... never had odd fueling problems then... gobs of black smoke, but where's the problem in that??

I have an auto trans and its doing the same thing even on warm up on idle it surges however I havent had time to contact Edge yet.....

What is the turbo boost when it is surging? I had that happen (my 04. 5) on flat terrain when the boost was hoovering between 9-11 psi. It was because the Edge computer was bouncing back and forth between low/high boost fueling. I think the boost fueling ramps up at 10psi. I talked to Edge about this last April.

Mine only did it on level 5 of the HOT program. Somtimes I would roll onto the throttle then the truck/box would not respond like it was supposed to. Sent back to Edge for the 3rd time in 3 months. My friend sent his back for nearly the same problem, but they seemed to have lost his box somewhere. Both of us are driving 05's. Steve

I did not notice the boost level when the surging was happening... I think I was too busy paying attention to driving a vehicle that had a mind of it's own



The uncontrolled fueling occurs for me consistantly just as I hit 1900 rpm as I row through the gears of my 6 spd & blasts me up to about 2300 rpm before it de-fuels the engine down to about 1700 rpm.



I have talked to the tech at Edge & I have a version 1. 1 on it's way in the mail to replace my version 1. 0. Very good customer service so far... no hassel, no b-s. I hope it gets here soon... driving a stock truck is really lame.
