Have others experienced this performance difference?

I have a 04, HO, 48re. I had the EZ installed since the truck had 700 miles on it (now has almost 10K) with no elbow. A couple of months ago I switched the box up to level 4 and it made a decent size difference in low end but fell off on top end. So I installed the elbow and lost even more power on the low end and didn’t feel an improvement in mid range. So I contacted Edge and sent the box in and they where very good about replacing it. I just got the new box, installed it and the boost elbow back on. The truck still had little improvement down low but pulled a little harder up top. So I pulled back into the driveway and put the stock elbow back on then went for a drive again. Now I have the low end back???

SO:

Dead stop (idle) to floor:

-Edge EZ on level 3 no elbow = tire spin in first, and tire scuffing in second.

-Edge EZ on level 4 no elbow = tire spin in first, and second.

-Edge EZ on level 4 w/ elbow = barely tire spin in first, none in second.

Does this make sense??? I know that boost doesn’t make power and is truly there to cool things down, but there is a VERY big difference with this. Since I don’t have any local CTD buddies to compare this to, is this normal??? How are others trucks with this set up performing, are your results the same???

Just to answer some of the possible questions: The fleet guard fuel filter has less than 4K on it, and I have a brand new Mopar air filter on. Everything else on the truck is bone stock except for the Pryro gauge.

So what do you guys think?

Thanks in advance,

Dave Morris

I experienced the same thing with my 04 235 horse (SO)Calif. Marty

Just a EGT gauge, no other ones. It only looked like the elbow effected the ETG's buy about 50 degrees. But I haven't towed yet to see what will happen. (without) I will hit just below 1400 from a 0-100 blast, but again I am not sure about towing temps.

So does everyones trucks with the EZ lvl 4 and boost elbow, barely break tires loose from a dead stop (not much more than stock)??? I find it hard to believe this is the box (since it is the second one), but I could be wrong like usual.

Thanks

Dave
