About the EZ,
1) I have had no codes.
2) I saw a 62. 3 hp and 134. 1 ft lbs increase at the rear wheels.
3) The truck pulls from about 1500 rpm, opposed to stock where it seemed to take off after 2000 rpm stock.
4) The dyno numbers in my signature are probably a bit low, because it was over 90 degrees in the dyno room, and there was a lengthy hose diverting the exhaust outside.
5) The power is smooth, it even seems smoother than stock.
6) EGT’s are reasonable in level one and two. In level three I can get it up to 1400 empty under very heavy acceleration, it seems that level three is about 160 degrees hotter than level two at WOT.
7) I think there is a solid 1+ mpg improvement in fuel mileage, but it is hard to tell since my foot seems to be heavy these days.
8) My pickup is a lot more fun to drive.
The only side affect was harmless, and it should only affect manual transmission rams. The box seemed to cause the idle RPM to bounce once as the engine dropped to idle speed after it was under load. At the worst it would dip down to about 675 rpm, then up to about 825rpm, and then settle in the middle. From what I have heard on the board, this is a common, harmless issue that affects all common rail injection 3rd generation trucks that have a box that fools with fuel pressure. I am no expert, and I may be wrong, so if what I say sounds like BS, please tell me.
Anyway, my opinion of the “600” EZ is that it is the best thing since sliced bread.
Peter
