Custom Tuning for Quad Adrenaline

Hey Gary, any gotcha's for tapping the pump wire? I am concerned I'll do something extra stupid and cut thru the wire when installing the tap. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It's pretty tight getting to the wire that needs to be tapped - so time and care are advised - and makes it hard to get a tapping wire firmly and securely attached - but you'll get it... That was why I went ahead and securely soldered mine while the replacement VP-44 was out on the bench...

Here it is installed, with RF noise filter attached:

Good luck!

Something like a Blue Chip cover may be an option for you, it pierces the wire. I've heard some say it works great, heard some that have had problems but it may work for you. Personally I would solder it.

Spend the time to solder it.

After tons of wire tap issues on my own truck with stealth covers and posi-taps, I'll never do it another way.

YUP - I fully agree - and would only add, do NOT rely upon grounding at engine bolts - go direct to the battery negative post...

Thanks guys for the input. I did tap using the connector suplied with the Edge install kit. And it was very tight fit. I do like the idea of soldering the connection, but that will come later. For right now, the Edge works very well. I am very impressed with how it brings my Cummins to life. I still have the stock transmission, so I don't run it with the Edge turned on very much. Should be getting DTT'd this weekend or next. Looking forward to running the Edge with DTT transmission. Anyhow, thanks for all the input.
