Edge Comp problems

ok guys here is one for ya... my brother has a 2001. 5 with all the toys and whistles with a 6-speed. otherwise a stock truck except for a pusher pump, guages, and edge comp. so here is the problem. he is on his third egde comp. each one lasts about 8-10 months and then starts to cause trouble. the truck will lose power, drop to an idle, buck and jerk, etc. shut the comp off and everything is good. recycle the power to the comp and it works good for a while then does it again. he bought the first one, and each other one has been a warrented replacement. he has talked to customer service, they don't know of any real issues. we have checked all the connections and everything seems fine. it seems that the edge just keeps getting its brain messed up. anybody have any explinations or advice???

I have the same problem except all the lights on the comp would come on and I would get a code for overboost.



I am on my 3rd one also under warranty. Edge sent me a new harness which I still need to install. I just have not had the time to check the old one for any possible shorts or rubbing.



What ever the problem is, I am sure it will be a simple fix once found.

Time and time again people who have comp issues need to double check the ground. Many who have the same issues you have re ground the comp to the battery and find all troubles go away. Some do replace them and all is good but being this one has been replaced 3 times I would start to look at the ground itself because of the chances of 3 going bad ... . ...

Hmmmmmmmmmm ??? Good Point, Guess when I get some time to look at it, I will start there. Just been too busy with other stuff.
