I just installed an Edge Comp and I'm not sure if I tapped the correct pump wire. The truck has more power, but not "kick-in-the-pants" power.

When I got to the pump wire harness, there are four wires instead of the two that the instructions say. The instructions say to tap the one closest to the block, but that was hard to tell. All four wires are relatively accessible so I picked the wire that I thought was the right one. I wish there was a way to tell which one is the right one without such vague instructions. Can some body help?

Steve, I believe you might have taped the wrong harness. There should only be two wires and its a pita to get to them. With the air horn removed, there is a two prong connector just below the VP cover in the top upper right corner if you are looking at it from the drivers side. There is a wiring loom around the wires you have to slit to get enough room to tap.

Hope this helps.

If you're seeing four wires I think your in the wrong spot. If I remember correctly, there should definitely only be two wires. I'd take another good look at the instructions and pay particular attention as to whats around that area, that should give you an idea of where your at.

Wow! I did have the wrong wire tapped. There are two sets of wires; one upper set and one lower set. I had tapped one of the lower set.

I tapped the upper set, closest to the block and moved the Edge wire. BIG difference. I noticed immediately when I took it for a drive. Boost was up at least 8 pounds and I smothered the traffic in a huge cloud of black smoke! :D

I've been bombed!
