Came home from work today & immediately went to the truck & turned the key on... . No Comp LEDs came on! Cycled the key 2-3 times & it worked. I hope the new software is an improvement because it sure as hell didn't resolve the turning on issue with colder than normal weather... And 40 degrees ain't so COLD!

Hey Billvo, did you ever speak with anyone at Edge regarding this?

Whats the Adreneline?

The new Race box from Quadzilla that I am beta testing. Should be here tomorrow. It is a 10 setting box which has the XZT+ settings on lower levels & is 180hp on top level. Guys who have tried it on 01-02 trucks say that it is stronger than the TST/Smarty stack already & Quad still hasn't started cranking it up yet. It has a turbo timer, Gauges, egt backdown & some things that I promised Quad that I wouldn't say. :-laf It will be the baddest box for the 24v when it is done.

Price is reportedly in the $650 range close to what the Smarty runs, and also claims to be upgradable via USB downloads - but then, we 2nd generation owners have heard (and apparently been burned by) that one before from the Smarty camp... #@$%!



In any event, guys looking for a top level, adjustable-on-the fly, power box might be wise to check it out...

Quad had some problems with his wiring harness suppliers & got held up. The Adreneline is advertised on Quadzilla but it is only for a preorder list. He does have a base program & turbo timer is working. He has numerous programs already written & is still writing some.

Reportedly, it will NOT stack with Smarty, but provides most of the Smarty features, and then some! About all it doesn't do is read/erase error codes, and change speedometer for changed tire sizes.



The greatest feature, is Smarty programming performance (or better), but instead of pulling to the side of the road and shutting down the engine to load a different program, you do it while in motion, at the touch of a button!



Works for me!

No need to stack anything with the Adreneline as it already pulls so much fuel that Quad had to rewrite programs because it was running the vp44 dry. Lets not rush Quad, he is taking his time with it to make sure that it is the King of vp44 boxes.

Sorry for not keeping up on this. I just came off midnight shift this week and never got around to calling them yet. I just sent the tech dept. an e-mail adressing the problem so I will let you know the response next week.



It does seem to have a more agressive feel to it which I like as it seems to spool my turbo better on level 2x2 which I use with smarty level 4 most of the time.

Called Edge today & the new box went out today, should be here tomorrow & ready to sell soon as I try the Adreneline.

Do us a favor and keep us posted on the Adrenaline. I would dump the Smarty/Comp combo in a heartbeat if this works as advertised.

I installed the Adreneline today & I must say that it is way smoother than my Drag/Smarty. You don't get that jerky feeling when the turbo lights because it now has instant spoolup. I mean right off idle my boost gauge is moving. :-laf The tune that quad sent me is the production tune [I think] & it doesn't feel quite as strong as Drag/smarty with this tune, but it is impressive how much faster the power comes in. My max egts were 1000* @ 100mph. I am gonna try some aggressive tunes soon. The engine oil temperature sensor is a great option & the turbo timer is a great thing to have, it also has a fuel pressure sensor with digital readout & egt backdown. This box is already well above & beyond expectations... . can't wait for stage 3!!!!

Comp 10. 8 update!

Received my 10. 8 Comp last week & the software didn't cure the cold power on problem & now this Comp is no better than an EZ! My replacement box doesn't fuel as good as the version 8! This one the pump tap isn't working on & yes, it's soldered in place!

Calling Edge Monday looking to go back to the Edge EZ. It's way more reliable that the Comp & while I enjoy the power of the Comp, if it spends more time in the mail than on my truck is it really worth it? Not for me! Just sent an email requesting yet another replacement this time to an EZ as I originally wanted.

This is another of those 'so weird' problems - I have the Comp with 10. 8 (and 7 before I had it updated) and NEVER once have had the no power thing happen. Strange.

I'm not at all trying to talk smack on Marco or Bob's product, just giving honest feedback here. I try different tuners/boxes all the time because towing power is what it is all about for me. I have nothing bad to say about the Smarty... loved it for a long time & actually recommended to numerous guys to buy one. I really like having Smarty around for clearing codes & things, but I won't be using it for a while.

I have nothing bad to say about the Smarty... loved it for a long time & actually recommended to numerous guys to buy one. I really like having Smarty around for clearing codes & things, but I won't be using it for a while.

For the second generation truck owners, MOST seem to be doing fine with the original version - and if that's all they want, expect, and are willing to settle for, GREAT!



BUT, some guys have various problems and issues needing correction - and others keep looking for those advertised and promised "program upgrades" that seem to be purely "vaporware" at the moment, in spite of occasional promises that "something is in the works... "
