OK, so here is what I'm thinking about adding to my truck,

Diesel Dynamics pusher pump upgrade kit

Diesel Dynamics stage 2 80 hp injectors

Edge Comp or Diesel Dynamic Ultimate Fueling Module

Is this too much to start with, or will this be better than settling for Bosch 275's and an Edge EZ that will probably just get me hooked and wishing I had gone to the next step?

That would be a great combo. But you better put a clutch on that list, and a larger turbo if you want to use the upper levels of the Comp.

I believe now that Edge owns DD, the Comp and DDUFM are the same (there was a post about this from someone with the company a while back).

Conventional wisdom (accurate or not) is that the DD TTPM (True Torque Power Module) and the DD UFM (Ultimate Fueling Module) were modified versions of the Edge EZ and Comp respectively which were somewhat less aggressive on the engine in that they had less timing advance than the Edge products. Their fueling-versus-boost programming for the various settings was also rumored to differ slightly. Perhaps this was true - perhaps not. Maybe someone with Edge can comment on this.

So Edge has bought out Diesel Dynamics? Gee, I've learned something new today! :D

I have had an ez and 275s. Great combo but certainly not an hp monster by any stretch. However it did everything I ever asked it too and was never in "need" of any more power for how I use the truck. If I recall I dynoed right at 300hp with that combo. Before purchasing the ez I looked hard at the DDTTPM and had learned (and as Rusty said true or not?) that the DDTTPM had less timing. It definitely has different settings though. The ez settings had full fuel at 3psi, 10psi or 20psi. The DDTTPM had 3 settings as well but one of them was timing only and I cant remember which the other two were I think full fuel at 20psi and 3psi but may be wrong. I ended up going with the ez at the time for one reason really the price. Back then the DDTTPM was about 100 more and I got a great deal on my ez which made the price diff even bigger. However that hasnt been the case for several years now since DD lowered the price. And I do think the ez is a bit high on the timing and if I had to buy another one I would probably go with the DDTTPM "if" I could verfiy the timing were a bit less aggressive.

Have no idea on the comp vs the ufm

Agree with PC that the II's, comp/ufm is a good combo from what I have seen with others that have had it. However your trans/clutch may think otherwise after a while.

Might be onto something, You never hear about the UFM having the winter surge like the comp, then again you don't hear too much about the UFM at all these days.

That's because the UFM has been retired. :) Edge now offers the DD timing/responsiveness curves in the Comp standard, so we did not need our own anymore. Same for the EZ.

Do you suggest that the HOT upgrade is more aggresive in timing on all levels and sublevels ?

Explain the rest of the ?s in the tread if you know what I mean
