Which is the better way to go? An Edge drag comp or a Tst Pmax comp stacked with an Edge Ez? I'm just starting to mod my 01 2500 and am wondering which way I should go. When all is said and done I'd like a relaible 450-500 hp. But of course I'm limited to an Ez for now until I can get a DTT transmission done (hopefully this summer). I'm thinking a dodgezilla or 40/35 hybrid, a set of EDM 3's, 4" magnaflow stainless, some type of pusher pump setup (Carter?), an AFE intake and either one of the computer setups mentioned above should get me in that ballpark... or am I mistaken? Thanks. .

oh I have a full set of Isspros :)

Mine was 325/700 before the comp. As soon as I install the wildcat max flow kit and Southbend clutch I'm going to hook the pump wire up and have it dyno'ed again. I am hoping for about 400-420, and this summer I plan to put on a HX40 or B1 and 5" exhaust. I figure that will give me close to 450, and I may be satisfied for a while. Jake

The TST and Edge are both nice boxes. For me, i prefer the Edge comp though, and i think for what your looking for, it's the better choice.

450-500hp is easily achieved with either box, assuming the appropriate other mods are made. So why buy two boxes when you can buy one?

If you get the comp, you can run it just like an ez, by not hooking up the pump wire. then when your transmission is ready, hook up the pump wire and your there.

BTW, my truck did 272hp with my drag comp off (this is on DD2's) with my Drag comp on, i made 459. That's 187hp difference on the same day, minutes apart, with the comp on vs. off being the only difference.

I can assure you some others will have similar opinions, and some others will have different opinions. you probably can't go wrong either way.

Good luck,

chris

Great thanks, I like hearing what other people are doing on dynos with what setups so I can have an idea of what setup I should be looking towards getting. I know the Ez does timing, the tst fueling and the Ez comp does both. But is there any real difference between running the ez/tst stack vs the Ez comp? Is one better than the other or is it pretty much just a personal prefference thing? I got an Ez pretty cheap (300. 00) off ebay which I'm gonna run for now then can either resell or use stacked with a tst after transmission mods that is why I'm asking as to which way is best to go.

Thanks again

If you tow or plan on injectors over 100hp, go with just the PMAX.

If you don't tow or will stick with smaller injectors, feel free to add the EZ.

DI5treez. . by stacking the Ez and comp I meant the Edge Ez and the Tst powermax 3 comp. I was wondering how that stack would compare to just running an Edge Drag comp.

I really dont do much towing. . at least not compared to what everyone else does in here... the heaviest thing I tow is a 16x7 enclosed motorcycle trailer with 4 bikes and a rollaway in it. I mostly commute to work in my truck but would love the extra power to "play" once in a while.

As far as injectors go I'm not sure what I'd go with. . don't know much about them yet but I've started reading :) From the few things I've read so far Edms seem the way to go as far as smoking (and the fact that they're not already worn) but they do cost more... . what size injectors would I need to get me in the 500hp range with either of the above box setups with a hx40/35 hybrid or dodgezilla? Or would I need a plain hx40 to keep temps down?

GadgettR1... Which direction did you go? I'm in the same situation. Already have the exhaust and transmission work completed. EZ needs some help or it goes.

I'm wondering exactly how good Marco's ecm and a TST3 are, I'm sure it's been stated but I cant read through 2,000 replies on that post atm :-laf

The Catcher and TST Power max competetion is the hot ticket, full fueling up to 3400RPM Oo.

A friend just dynoed his catcher tst box and a new set over injector with anHX40 and got over 520HP on a 02 HO

Yeah, Paul's truck did quite well with that combo. The injectors were a set of our new DDP Vaporizer series. With a real turbo on his truck, he will be mid to upper 500's for sure. Oo.
