EDGE Evolution question on my 2007 5.9 CTD truck

Hi. I have an Edge Evolution unit in my truck. I like to use the economy settings and see an improvement in mileage using it. I have had P codes show up before though while using it. This may be totally unrelated to the unit as I have 163,000 miles on it.
If I unplug the unit does everything go back to stock? With the Edge on "economy" I can see the pump high pressure readings and they seem to be unchanged for this setting. Does this setting only advance the injection timing?
This setup is wonderful gauge option. I'm monitoring fuel pressure, auto transmission temp, boost, voltage, Pyrometer, pitch and anything else I'd want. I want to use the economy setting too but want to know more. Thanks for your help, Herb

Probably duration and timing for the fuel mileage . I've heard of the Edge throwing codes . You may want to call Edge and ask them your questions. Best from the horses mouth
