Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Edge EZ and boost

I've had my truck set up the same (check sig) for around 3 years now and usually only get 26-27 pounds of boost, now lately it seems like it's going up. On the way home tonight I actually pegged the gauge at 30.

I don't mind the extra boost but is something going wrong ?

it could be a Map sensor going bad

i run a comp and depending on out side temp i can hit 40-42 lbs

or it could be your waste gate sticking closed

i have mine J-hooked

but anything more than 30-35 lbs is just a waste on a HY35

I was under the influence that the HY35 was not wastegated.

Either way, MAP sensor is a good place to look, otherwise, it could just be air quality.

Mine fluctuates from a max of about 30-32 psi during the day (hot and dry)

to closer to 35psi at night (cooler and dry) dry meaning low humidity.

And thats just with an EZ.

A HY does have a waste gate

i have heard of a few rusting shut and over boosting

i would start there, it is the cheapest it only cost's time

it is no big deal if it is, they make a "J hook" to hold them closed

I had EZ+RV275s and could peg my 30lb boost gauge (HX35). I think it's more a matter of fuel+load than air temps. Empty and level, can't hit 30. Empty and 6% grade, can hit 30. 5th wheel in tow and 6% grade, can peg and hold, but always back off the throttle to keep the boost where I can see it.

Now that I've upped to Mach 1. 6 injectors, I'm getting a 60lb gauge.
