Did some compairing levels 4 and 6 today on the ez. Pulling a trailer of only about 5k (enclosed tandem). Level 6 was slightly more responsive, not to noticeable though. Normal cruising egts at 75 are the same as stock on both settings. Then we compared the 2 settings with the g-tech while watching egt's. Level 4 was 0-60 in 8 sec and quarter was 16. 3 @ 88mph and egt peaked at 1250 around 85 and then started dropping. Level 6 was 0-60 in 7. 6 and quarter went by in 15. 8 @ 91mph and egt peaked about 1375 around 85 and then dropped off to around 1200. To answer you question about level 4, catcracker no, I don't think you will be disappointed at all with level 4. But as you can see level 6 does indeed have a few more ponies!

Stock G-tech?

What were the performance numbers prior to the Edge EZ? For instance, the quarter mile and the 0-60 times before to EZ install?

nope it has 6 but edge does'nt recommend using these levels. and i have seen 2 posts where guys have had trouble with anything above level 4.

hmmm, i JUST got my EZ, and no pins are cut...

Could it be a old-new stock item?

So how can one tell if I will be able to use level 6 and 5?

i have three sets of pins on the right bank...

last question, what is the 5 and 6 setting? (on pins)

Your G-tech is robbing you. I ran 15. 38 @ 96 mph at a track with the Edge EZ on 6. My truck is an 03 LWB four-door weighing 8100 lbs with me in it.

The stock times we took on a different day but they were as follows, 0-60 in 9. 3 and the quarter in 17. 5 @ 82mph. So alot of improvement.

Yeah I do belive the g-tech may be robbing me but it is very consistant on the street were I test at. I think the strips around here are closed for the season so that is they only way we can test right now. What altitude are you at DieselSport Promotions? We are at 1200' here but I did not check what the density altitude was the the day we made the runs. The density altitude is normally 2500' to 3000' here depending on the day.

I did see a tv commercial the other day for a new performance shop in town that has a dynojet. As soon as I can get a hold of them I think I will spend some time testing with the edge on the different power settings.

Just got mine a week ago and only one pin was clipped but my understanding is you don't use that one anyway. For level 6 the pins should be as follows "::: XX:" Not sure what 5 is. The pin on mine that is cut is the bottom right pin on the left side of the box

Remember though that edge does not advertise level 6 so you are using it at your own risk. I have had no ill effects on my truck but as catcracker has said a couple of people have had some problems.

I had the chance to mess with a G-Tech meter with a friend, and had the following results, keep in mind, I have a 6 Speed, and I had to learn to shift all over again before it would give me a realistic run for a 1/4 mile.

On level 4 on my EZ, it claimed a best of 18. 6 at 82 and averaged 314HP, on level 6, and yes it appears I have a level 6, it improved to 331HP and 16. 94 at 88MPH and smokes from the get go. Then on a run with the EZ on 0, boost only mode, it ran 19. 4 at 76 and showed only 259 HP, one run only.

I'm not really sure how accurate it is, and racing my truck up and down a Phoenix street with a Cop in the passenger seat may affect the outcome somewhat, but I am still impressed.

Its not what I got this truck for, but it sure is fun!

Oh, my first run on level 4 was 19. 2 at 73, yuk. and my last run was 11. 5 at 121MPH :D
