I have a 2001. 5 and suddenly it seems back to the old stock power, if I can remember back that far. Do these boxes go bad? I am ashamed to admit I never got the gauges so I cannot check the boost but the power seems to come on late, near 2000 rpm and not kick you in the pants like it did yesterday. Edge is on vacation till next week so I thought I would tap you guys expertise. Thanks.

First thing I could check is all the rubber hoses that are between the turbo and engine. I have had them come off on my 98. when I mean come off I mean the rubber will pull out from under the hose clamp (most times in places you can't see) allowing boost pressure to leak out. Mine would never totaly disconnect, just a little piece of the hose would pull out from under the clamp. Once it comes apart the first time, it keeps getting easier and easier to come apart until you replace the hose.

Yes the electronic boxes can go bad also. Take if off and see if it makes a difference?

I am assuming you have a straight EZ and not a EZ-Comp. Check your electrical connector for corrosion when you pull it off. As stated before, the boxes can and do go bad from time to time. When I had my EZ, I had 4 computer heat sinks glued to it to help get rid of the heat that the electronics inside generated ;)

Also cold weather/winter fuel may make a difference. I have an 01. 5 with an auto and EZ and it is alittle sluggish in the winter. I chaulk it up to cold/winter fuel. Runs like normal in the summer. Just a thought.

i had those rubber boots come off twice. there is NO doubt what the cause is when it happens due to the sound of a loose pneumatic hose coming from under the beasty... . an easy fix though.
