Hey Guys,Kinda new here as far as posting, been lurkin and learnin' though! I'm getting ready to install an Edge EZ box,got the truck in the warm garage, hood up,plenty of light. I found the first plug (the one with the factory cover, hanging loose by itself) OK. The other one,MAP? is located on the left side of the engine right behind the fuel filter assmbly. ,correct? What kind of "clip" or whatever holds this thing on? Is it like the little red slide thing that comes on the new harness for the new box? Why in the #&@! did they have to put the clip on the bottom side of the plug? I couldn't find better directions, and the ones from edge are kinda vague. To the guys that put this box on in "5 minutes" I take my hat off to ya" It takes me that long to snake my hand down through all the lines, wires, etc. Any help is appreciated! BTW,its an 02' Oh yea,Whats the little brass 90 deg. elbow for? The directions stop at 01'trucks. Does this apply to my 02" Thanks Again! Eric

The brass elbow goes on your turbo. It let's less air to the waste gate actuator, thus making more boost so you can enjoy the benefits of your E-Z. You can see the existing one near the bottom and front of the turbo. Good Luck:)

On edit: On my truck the stock elbow was a 45, but the new 90 fits fine.

The MAP sensor is the sensor on the drivers side of the block, right behind the fuel filter housing. The plug is held on with a little clip that grabs the nub on the sensor itself. If you look at the plug on the EZ harness, it is the same and you should be able to see how to disconnect it. The elbow replaces the stock one on the turbo. If you look right below the hose that comes from the airbox, you see the fitting with a small hose that goes to the wastegate thing. Take a pair of pliers and cut, twist and bend the factory clamp and replace the elbow. Then use the hose clamp supplied by Edge to put the small hose back on the elbow.

Hope this is clear as mud for ya!

ps- I would imagine the directions you have should be the same on your truck. It's likely they haven't reprinted them since the '02's hit the lot.

I hope your box is for a 2002, as far as I know all Edge boxes are the same connections and you will have to use an adaptor to make it work, they have different connectors for the 01 vs. the 02. You may have to order an adaptor to make this work for you.

cheers, Kevin

adapters

I got lucky with mine. It came with an adapter. My EZ fits 2000- 2002. I just figured they all came that way.

My Edge is for an 02,and my truck is the HO 6 spd. I still dont understand the brass elbow fitting wastegate mod... Is this a performance upgrade I need to do now at my "bombed" level,(AFE,4" exh. ,edge ez) or something to do down the bombing road? The Edge instructions say it will work either way? Thanks! Eric

Do it now. All the elbow does is allow you to make a little more boost, keeping your EGT's down and making some more power.

With my EZ I get about the same MPG, however I think I drive a little harder. So maybe if I could be a little me conservative with the pedal I may have seen a 1-2 MPG improvement.

Edge is correct it will work either way but as Jlinder says do it now. With out the elbow you are limited to 20 lbs of boost. With the elbow your boost will go up to around 28 lbs, which translates to more power and cooler EGT's

Little RED $%^&Clip

 If you have a set of pick tools, take the 45 degree tool and practice on the red clip on the edge connector. Once you see how the clip works and what it tkes to disengage it , you will be able to deal with the map sensor clip a little better. hope this helps!
