Greetings all.

Does the Edge EZ require any wire splices, or is it a simple plug in component?

Also, does it leave any tell tale signs in the computer?

Finally, if I decide to do it, where should I buy one?

Regards,

Ken.

and the answers are....

Guys

No wires to splice; I believe it will leave tell-tale signs in computer and I got mine from MAC's RV (advertised in the TDR).

With all that being said, what are ya waiting for? Place them orders. BOMBing ain't for the faint or weak of heart. :D

BOMBs away!

I can tell you that the EZ is a simple plug in.

Not sure about the "alarms", lol.

Haven't had a computer hooked to mine, although they did see the velcro strips when it was in for a bent rear drive shaft

Took me less than 5 minutes to install mine (more than half of that was reading the directions). Couple of plug ins and your done. No splicing. I don't know about whether or not it leaves a trace for your dealer to spot or not, but it's worth the risk imo. It's my 2nd Ram I've installed a TTPM in and I've never once had a problem. I do unplug it if I have to take my truck to the dealer.

Extremely easy to put in and take out. Has not set any codes on mine. I guess some look for the boost elbow installation... I just didn't put that on mine.

With my TTPM from DD I received instructions with photos that made it very easy to find the two plugs. As Keith said, they are located over the intake manifold. Nothing to it... . if I can do it... anyone can!

from what others had told me, including EZ, horsepower wise the boost elbow does very little. However, the little extra boost helps keep EGTs lower.

The difference with the EZ is amazing. You will be impressed how easy it is to gain sustantial power.

They currently only sell one product for the '03, right? The edge EZ with four settings.

Do you think the dyno charts shown here on Edge's website are a result of setting #4? My guess would be yes.

Boy this almost seems like a no-brainer. Under $500. 00?

I don't have gauges yet. I will add them before I do any real towing. Right now I am just pulling a snowmobile trailer that weighs in at around 5500 pounds loaded. I won't be pulling in any real big hills, just nothern Michigan.

I tow my jeep/trailer (tips scales at about 6200), with the EZ on 3 and my auto, I have broke all four tires loose at a stop light racing my buddy in his 4cly wrangler about 1/8 mile :D I took him with the truck, but my jeep (in tow) on back lost the race by a couple of feet, so HE called it a wash.

You will be amased how much the edge wakes up your truck, I didn't install the elbow yet because I didn't want to mess up that "tamper proof" hose clamp, but now I got my hands on some of those clamps, I will be installing the elbow as soon as the weather breaks.

I got mine for $465. 00 from some web site, but can't remember the name.

I don't think it will through a code since basically what it does is trick the computer signals and allows more boost and fuel pressure (the comuter never knows it).

Get one you will love it Oo. Oo. Oo.

I don't know how they tell but, when I had my '98 in for service I removed my BD box before I went in and the tech asked me after, when I had remove the box. The computer had picked up something that indicated the engine was getting more fuel. I don't know if the new boxes leave any trace or not. :D

BOMBS AWAY!!!

I think this is probably the website Dave Morris referred to. I sent them an e-mail yesterday to check stock, but did not get a reply. I will call them today.

I think I'm going to go with the Edge EZ, DPP 4" exhaust and an AFE air cleaner.

I was surprised to see the T-409 stainless exhaust is basically the same cost as the aluminized steel, yet double the warranty.

I am planning to skip gages. I will wait and see what develops with additional Edge products. If they come out with a timing/duration box that monitors EGT, I may go that way later.

It looks like the entire project will run a little over a grand . . . not too bad.

What do you think, am I nuts for not getting a pyro?

I have to make sure they are identical (can only do that by removing it), but it looks like the one. I got mine from grainger industrail supply company. The biggest problem is you have to buy a minimum of 100, but that is still cheaper than a voided warranty :p. They are called "ear clamps" and are typically used for "tamper proof" connections. The only thing I have to locate now is the "mint green" paint that they dap on the edge of the clamp. But that should be easy enough to find in a touch up bottle.
