Need a good Transmission Assembly Lube

Well guys I have been doing a lot of research and I am mind set on a edge product. . But I'm not too sure which one would be better for me. . I plan on keeping the stock transmission for a while until I can save up some money to upgrade it. Also I don't want to tap the pump wire because of my auto transmission. . I use the truck as a daily driver driving about 50miles a day. And on occasions drive 2-3 hrs towing 4 quads & coolers to go camping. I like the ability to adjust the levels with the comp. . But I also have a few questions about the comp. .

1. If the pump wire is not tapped do the other levels even make any difference? (Ex. Levels 2-5)

2. And if they do make a difference is it really noticeable w/o it tapped?

The power levels 2-5 don't make a difference, but the sub levels will (for smoke control - at what boost 100% fueling is supplied). And you can turn the box off altogether if you want to save the trans while towing.

You will feel a slight difference. The higher sub levels dump fuel very early (100% at 3psi for sub level 5), so you'll get quicker response off idle and more smoke than sub level 1, which is 100% fueling at 20psi (I think). Not much smoke on sub level 1 (actually defuels below stock curve) and it will feel very laggy.

I have had an Edge Comp on my '99 3500 for over 60,000 miles and have found that towing my ALFA at 12,000 lbs on a setting of 3-5 works very well for everything except the steeper hills of 7%+. Then, I go to 5-5 and the smoke puffs a bit but the power increase is notable. I keep a close eye on the EGT's and back off the throttle and shift at 1200 degrees or less than 1800 RPM. So far, I have only good things to say about the Comp...

The best part of the comp is the ability to turn it off.

There have been a few situations in really slick stuff that the EZ fueling made it difficult to drive at best.

Just some food for thought.

Yes it can if the pump wire is NOT connected. If you pierce the wire it's a whole new game and a destroyed stock auto transmission in minutes!

im trying to decide on eather stacking my tst with a ez or just buying a comp. the tst dosent fuel at low boost but with it staked with an ez i gess it would be very similar to the comp... this truck has had its share of transmission NV400 problems... . NV5600 now that was all befor i ownd it. anyway im hoping to get a little fore low boost fuel so as to get a little faster spool. and maybe a puff of black when i want it
