What do you think would be the best setting (mild, mid or max) on a EDGE-EZ while pulling a 28 foot 6-7000 lb. trailer with the stock clutch. My concern focuses around the possibility of clutch slippage. On the max setting it will spin the tires in several gears. Of course gauges are a prerequisite.

I'm tired of waiting for the BD X monitor to finally offer a dash/column unit. I'm imagineering the new S. P. A. EGT/Boost on one gauge on the door post. I also want fuel pressure and (?). I've already asked about a trans temp gauge for my 6-speed, and the response was clear that I don't need a trans temp gauge. What would you choose to have with the S. P. A. fuel gauge? What would best suit my daily driver, occasional puller needs as the forth gauge? Opinions, recommendations apprerciated.

I was also curious if anyone has the steering column gauge pod (Geno's gauge Gizmo). Does it get in the way of viewing your stock dash instruments? This might allow me to put a non-digital (less expensive) fuel gauge on the steering column. Thanks for your thoughts on this. Thanks. :D :D Jim

OOOPPPS !!!!! I'm MARSHMELLOWS and I just posted the questions on the EDGE EZ settings and S. P. A. gauge questions. Somehow it came up on Dober Man . "Wires are crossed"

My opinion....

I would put the EZ in the mildest setting... ... but that definetely takes some of the fun out of the situation.

Guages... .

1 Fuel pressure

2 EGT

3 boost

4 Rear Diff or transmission ..... or a switch between the two senders to read off of the same guage.

Is this for the 97 in your sig? If so I am confused. Didn't think the 97 could use an ez due to its lack of electronics and its p7100 pump. But if not an issue then I would use the mid setting. It allows full fuel at 10psi so you are already moving fairly well and shouldn't be an issue at take off but has the ability to use the full fuel while cruising. The low setting allows it at 20psi and would only allow it under full boost situations somewhat limiting.

As far as the guage I would probably make the other side of the spa fuel gauge a temp unit for the diff since you are towing.

SORRY FOR ALL THE MIX UP... :( A real apology to Dober Man who ended up with the first two posts entered by MARSHMELLOWs mysteriousely & unintentionally. NEVER FEAR, TDR will work this out. I'll bet Steve is fretting over it right now !

My CUMMINS is: 2002, 4WD, Quad, Short Bed, ETH/DEE, LSD, 3. 54, SLT+, Bright White, Agate Leather. S/S Putco 4" Nerf Bars. BANKS CBC 4" Exhaust Brake and 4" S/S Monster Exhaust. She Be, "Singing without the Ring. " Gotta get gauges (fast, fast, fast).

My questions about the EDGE-EZ and gauges relate to this 2002.

HEY, I GOT MY NAME BACK

:D That was interesting. Happy Day, I've reclaimed my own name, Now I guess I need to find out who Dober Man is !?!

Thanks goes to Steve St. Laurent. Steve indicated this was a "first" and gave me a few ideas to follow up on. I found out Dober Man works at the same company I do. It's a small world.

I got the SPA gauges and went with a configuration similar to what you are looking for. The fourth for me was oil temp with the probe just above the oil filter. This was reccommended by BigDaddy, and I have to thank him for his good advice. But if you tow, you may well want to know how the rear bulb is doing--that's what I'd want to know.

The steering mount is probably fine, but I have enough trouble reading the gauges through the steering wheel already, just my opinion.

If you are concerned with slipping the clutch then turn the EZ way down when you pull the trailer. I have a 2001 HO, and in my case, I was able to slip the stock clutch with just the EZ. Don't let anyone tell you that you CAN'T slip a stock clutch with just an EZ. It all depends on the clutch and what it will take. I was just careful with mine and all was well. Well, at least until I fed 275 injectors into the equation  . Now I UNPLUG the EZ to tow with, until I cand get ther SB Clutch installed.

What about OP at the fourth gauge? Almost everyone goes into a panic when the oil pressure goes south and it is just the sender which is none to reliable, but no one is willing to bet that it is just the sender.

I run a seperate OP in addition to the dash just to have a backup of a critical gauge.

How does the aftermarket op gauge compare to the stock one. Readings the same , higher, lower. Thinking of doing the same.
