I was driving down the interstate the other day at 75 and I lossed power coasted to 60 and then it took off again for a while and then continued to repeat it self again and again. Then the other day I when to pull out from the store started out in 2nd like always and it died so started it back up now in 1st I take off and no power for a few seconds then blasts off. what is up ????

Hate to break it to you, but those symptoms and codes usually mean one thing..... bad injection pump. Just replaced mine a few weeks ago because of the same problems. Expensive, but relatively easy to replace. Let me know if you have any questions.

With no other BOMB's and the edge EZ pulled off, the dealer should fix it. It may take a while to convince them that it is actually the VP-44 and not the lift pump, but they should do it. Mine went out at 91,000 miles, but I had tapped the pump wire so I didn't even attempt the dealer. Good luck to you.

Sorry to hear it bandrew!! Had the same exact thing happen to my truck!! I took the ez off and it ran fine for a bit but eventually the symptoms came back and got worse and worse. Had to go through the red tape with the dealer first they said it was the filter then the lift pump and finally they put in the new injection pump. Not too bad though but you should have it taken care of soon cause one day you'll need to puch it and it won't go and that can be pretty scarey when a peterbuilt is comming up on you at 75 mph!!

so sdriv have you just left the ez off now that it is fixed? or have you put it back on? and how long did you drive with it off before the vp44 went out thanks for even replying i am just trying to figure out if i should just put the ez back on and run it again untill the codes come back and then take it in ( with out the ez of course) or run without. I kind of want to get it fixed since i have some mach 2 edms coming

Had the same thing happen to my truck a few months ago. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the map sensor first, didn't help so they replaced the injection pump and has been fine ever since. I had the ez at the time, just bought a comp so I am on my own from now on. If you take it in to the dealer they should fix it for you.

Just for my curiousity, what was your fuel pressure running for the 2 or 3 weeks prior to the problems / codes?

well you see i have guages; its just that there on top of my dresser waiting to be put in. We have had one of our Semi's with a engine getting rebuilt in our shop then it blew up and now getting an engine swap so I don't have priority for our shop and I am not man enough to do it out side in the freezing cold, but now i wish i would of had them in a long time ago since i don't know when my lift pump went out

bandrew! I actually drove mine for about 6-7 months before I couldn't take it anymore so I brought it in!! I haven't hooked up the box yet only because of lack of time! I really miss that extra get up and go! LOL

I had the same problem. Took the E-Z off then took it to the dealer. 82000 miles. New injection pump- had truck back next day. Put E-Z back on. Runs better than before.

Bandrew - Have someone with a mechanical fuel pressure gage send you one, or go find one and hook it up just before the injector pump. Check your fuel pressure. It could just be the lift pump, since you don't have the gages you don't know. The LP is simple and easy to fix, the dealer will do it up to 100,000 miles. If its not the LP, then it is the VP, like everyone has said. And the dealer will fix that too.

Thanks guys I to the edge ez off and took it in to a different dodge dealership and they noticed the lack of stock power I was experiencing and are going to put on a new Injection Pump, and I have already put on a new lift pump so I should be set. Once I get it back I'm going to put in my gages it prevent it from happening again.

I had the same problem, same codes, Same fix. Had to put in a new injector pump and lift pump. Runs fine now but I am a little reluctant to put the EZ back on till I get a fuel psi guage. I have tested my pressure with my shop guage and it's fine. but I'm a little paranoid. My pump went at only 34k and lately most every one who has been loosing injector pumps seems to be running an EZ or other Edge product. Might be just coincidence but i think I'll wait till i get a Fuel psi guage to put mine back on.
