Wife says I can get some stuff for the truck. I'm trying to decide which timing box is better, Van Aakyn or Edge EZ. What experience has anyone had with either of these boxes? Performance, warranty issues, customer support, etc ... By the way I have future plans of adding some Mach 1. 6 injectors.

I have the Edge Comp and have been pleased ever since installation (about 4 years ago). It does timing and fueling, and is adjustable in the cab. If you don't tap the VP44 wire, the Comp will act exactly like an EZ, but with more fueling adjustability.

I've heard about customer service going down at Edge, but have not experienced it myself. My unit is out of warranty and if anything happens with it, I would not hesitate to call Edge before making a decision whether to replace it with a like unit or a different box altogether.

From what I've read, the Van Aaken box makes power down low better than the Edge products, but the Edge products make better power higher up in the rev range. As far as which is the better box, I dunno. Do a search on here and you'll find DAYS of reading on all the boxes.

Whatever you decide, have fun and enjoy the ride!

If you're going to drop $500 on a new EZ, why not go with a Catcher?

On the other hand, a used EZ could save some $$. Heck - for $500 you can get a used EZ and some Jammer injectors. :-laf

I'd go with the van Aaken. They are very comparable boxes but the VA is about $100 cheaper then the EZ. Either way you'll like the improvement. :-laf

I remember reading that the EZ adds timing the Van Aaken does not. From what I gathered the H. O already has advanced timing and more is not neccesarily better. Perhaps someone else will chime in who knows alot more than I do.

My Edge EZ has served me well for many years but I do remember the power coming on earlier with my Van Aaken box installed before this one. The Catcher is another option though without the bolt on stuff.

The VA does add a little timing but not much. If you are going to go with one of the smaller boxes then the VA is the way to go. If you want more I like the Comp or a Bluechip.
