I have been running the edge ez with the rv 275 injectors for 3-4 years and have been very happy. I would love a little more power though and found the edge jammers at citydiesel for a good price. Just wondering what you guys thought about how the 2 would go together. I don't want to get crazy $$$ wise. I could spend the $350 or so without getting into too much trouble, but thats about the limit. I rarely tow but would like to be able to. I have the stock turbo but with my current setup, my EGT rarely sees 1000 deg. Just curious what you all would recomend.

Thanks Dan.

got clutch???

You will slip it shortly with much more power than you have. You have 3. 54 gears and oversized tires. don't do the upgrade until you have the $ for a new clutch set aside.

I slipped my stock with a comp and stock injectors, clutch was a bit tired, but there is not much more room. I went with a SB Con OFE. It is a little grabbier, but well mannered.

Haven't tried any other clutches.

Your EGTs can get toasty when towing. You will have to watch it on the hills. Jammer3s also will lay some smoke. I kinda regret getting rid of my RV275s. They were a good smooth injector. I plan to sell my jammer3s and try the Mach 1. 6s to see if the hype about less smoke/same power is true. You will loose some MPG also.

I know this isnt what you asked but Im gonna give my advise anyway. :-laf

Sell the EZ and buy a Smarty. Seat of the pants its the best power mod IMHO

It made my truck fun!:D

Dan,

I just had Jammer 3s put in last week. I also had the EZ and 275 injector combo and liked it, but the Jammer 3 nozzles were free and so was the labor putting them in so I did it. As my truck is, it would be pretty worthless towing. I can get to 1500 degrees easily on flat ground unloaded with my stock charger. The HP increase is obvious, but it's mostly smoke and heat. Along with the previous suggestion to lay away $ for a clutch, I'd also think about getting more air too if you tow and/or don't have a disciplined right foot.

I had DD3's and an EZ on my 99 auto. EGT's weren't too bad, I had to run wide open to 90 mph to hit 1200. I had an AFE stage 1 and 4" exhaust. I never towed anything with it so I can't say how hot it would get. Quite a bit of smoke if I wanted. My transmission and converter hated it. Lots of power.

If you cant burn the fuel you aren't using it... . If you want more power but want to be able to tow look into a different box... like a comp, tst, apb, fms, or the new quad box coming out soon to name a few. Otherwise in order to tow, you will need more air, and a clutch. With a different box you will just need a clutch because you can turn down the box if need be... ... ..... my advice sell the ez or see if you can trade it in towards something else... ...

Well Dan, I hate to say it, but you have a really sensible setup right now! I think the EZ/RV275 combo is the best bang for the buck because it's safe, simple, priced right, and makes a genuine improvement that's all usable. It's about a 90 HP increase. Once you go beyond that, you need a better clutch, probably a bigger turbo - there's 3 grand right there. You can add more fuel with injectors or a wire-tap box - that will accelerate the need for the aforementioned improved parts unless you try real hard not to use the available power. How fun is that?
I ran your current combo for a couple of years and it was great. But of course, I had to have a little more. The slope, she is slippery - yes?
