Well I finally broke down and bought an Edge EZ for my truck that I always thought would have plenty of power and would not require upgrading. I will be installing the box in the next couple of days. It should be a very simple procedure. Does anyone out there have any tips/advise? Mounting methods/location etc?

make sure your data port and map connections on your truck are nice and clean I always use dielectric grease have fun

Good advice. I use some electrical contact cleaner first. Let that evaporate, then slather it up good with dielectric grease.

I'd also suggest setting the jumper on the mildest setting. The most aggressive setting out of the box makes the pedal jumpy and very non-linear. It makes the cruise control hyper-agressive too.

FYI per Edge (called them 6 Dec 04), removing the jumper entirely will cause the box to default to it's MILDEST setting, NOT THE MOST AGGRESSIVE as earlier TDR posts have reported.
I ran my EZ on the most aggressive setting and then lost the jumper playing with it. It went to the least aggressive setting judging by the change on my truck, so I can confirm that Edge told me the truth.

No jumper= least aggressive. This is far left with the PC board on the bottom. LIke this: #ad

The EZ is a great little unit. The biggest problem putting it in, at least for us short guys, is getting to the plugins. I wrapped a shop towel around mine & slid it on edge :-laf behind the electrical connection box. It stayed ther just fine even on some seriusly bumpy roads. Don't forget the brass boost elbow. Enjoy the ride. :D
