On a stock truck should i leave my new edge ez on setting 3 that it came with from the factory? I have a 2002 5spd, I have the boost elbow installed, thanx for the help

Matter of preference

Mine's always been on that setting... when stock... slightly BOMBed... heavily BOMBed. Unless you are getting too much smoke under heavy throttle/low boost, I say leave it there. Others may have different opinions.

When my truck was stock with only the EZ box, it was all I could do to get a small puff of smoke, would assume it will be the same for you. All the jumper is doing is to tell when it adds more fuel, i. e. , at which boost level. In the end you get the same amount of fuel added. That's my take on it anyhoo.

Thanx bigsaint, at low throttle low boost i get a pretty good puff, but boy does she cook!!I got new inj. and banks high ram coming, also jardine 4"!! cant wait!!

No problem. Which injectors you gonna run ? I've heard the Jardine on a few 12 valve'rs, it sounds great !!!

JGarcia: I'm no expert on autos but I have learned from DTT and others: the Valve Body is calibrated for the HP level of the engine. So the factory valve body's shift points are setup for stock power level. Add the EZ and you are creating more HP at a given RPM. I believe this extra power causes the stock auto to shift into a higher gear too soon. This keeps your RPMs/line pressure lower than idea. This adds to the problem of TC slippage.

A lot of guys work around this problem by manually locking it out of OD till you reach proper RPMs. I do not find this necessary with the EZ on setting 2 (no extra fuel till 10# of boost).

That's my theory. I could be dead wrong. I just know mine shift more to my liking on Setting 2. :p
