Did the first 900 miles with the box. Towed great and I think my mileage went up.

I did the turnbulkle thing and got 30+ psi with my foot in it. Some whine/whistle near max boost.

Someone told me a different methos of raising the boost that usually can't be found bu the dealer. You drill a 1/16th hole thru the hardpipe to the wastegate actuator. He claimed it let off the pressure to raise the boost, wasn't noisy or noticable. If more boost needed, drill another hole or enlarge the first.

Has anyone heard of this or done it?

I haven't yet put a chip on my 01, but my brother-in-law had a 99 5 speed with the EZ and The chip came with a waste gate fitting to up the boost. He claimed fuel mileage increase from 18 mpg before to 22. 5 mpg after. I tell you what that pickup would run too. I hope to get a chip in the near future probably a Edge EZ

I've never seen 30psi with my EZ and my boost elbow. Seems like I get around 25-26 psi at WOT and 4th gear.

I would like to see 30psi but anything more than that and my gauge would not register the increase.

Just got home from DD where they had installed my new TTPM :D . The boost elbow will allow you to get about 24 psi compared to the stock one.

Let me repeat my question.

Someone told me a different method of raising the boost that usually can't be found by the dealer. You drill a 1/16th hole thru the hardpipe to the wastegate actuator. He claimed it let off the pressure to raise the boost, wasn't noisy or noticable. If more boost needed, drill another hole or enlarge the first.

My EZ Comp box has a special fitting that goes in the waste gate line... . It's nothing more than a fitting with hole in it.....

I'm guessing that it's smaller than 1/16"... With the box on I can pin my boost gauge at 30 psi.....

I'm sure the method works..... I wouldn't try it without a boost gauge installed... ...

EZ and Fuel Mileage

Just curious, but are the increased mileage figures folks are seeing on the overhead computer or done mathematically at the pump? My overhead went from about . 4 mpg discrepancy (stock) to +2. 5 mpg discrepancy (EZ only) to +6 mpg discrepancy (EZ and DDII's).

Doing the math, I'm averaging just a touch over 18 mpg (city and hiway) with the EZ and DDII's. Overhead computer says just over 24. 5mpg... thought about showing it to a co-worker who drives a GM, just for grins:D:D
