Edge & Fuel Mileage

I’m thinking about getting the edge comp but was wondering will it hurt my mileage or will I gain any? And what numbers are you seeing? Right now with stock I'm getting 18-19mpg... I’m not going to be hooking the pump wire up until I get some transmission upgrades. . Since I still have the stock auto…

I've seen a gain in fuel mileage when I put the Comp on. For me, it was about 2 mpg (17 mpg to 19 mpg). Since you are not tapping the pump wire, the timing changes from the Comp should definitely help your mileage. EDGE claims about a ten percent increase, which is about 2 mpg in your case. Good to see that you are planning on transmission mods. Speaking of which, a better transmission/torque converter should help your mileage a bit as well.

mpg no mods., with other mods, and with comp

-a Superchips Dbox (Edge EZ with different sticker) gave me 20 mpg.



-sent the Dbox to Edge for them to test because of problems with truck and while running with no mods. i got 16-17mpg. -3,4 mpg



-nothing wrong with Dbox, Edge gave me a great deal on the Comp ($350).



-turned out the problem with truck was the lift pump, which then killed the VP.



-FASS installed, new waranty covered VP, and exaust i never got below 17mpg. +1mpg



-installed Edge Comp w/o tapping wire i have seen as good as 22 mpg ! +5

but i average 20. 5 mpg. +3. 5



-u will see an increase in mpg with your Comp. I think i could do better than 20. 5 with no problem at all, but that is not fun-i really like to "pour the chilli" to it.



-i just wonder if anyone got better fuel milage after a transmission upgrade? - i am thinking of Goerends TC and valve body in the next year

the comp gave me a +4mpg i run it on 3x5 all the time unless i want to play



i am getting around 18-19 mpg

pull your IAT and clean it or replace it ($25. 00)

if your millage is way down the replace your MAP sensor, you may or may not get a code.
