Edge Hot mode worth it?

Ive got an 06 2500 4x4 6spd with the Edge juice & Attitude monitor, i am debating weather to "unlock" the HOT mode, Has anyone thats done it experinced any problems and is there much of a power difference?

Well there is a considerable differnence in power on the Hot Level. If you don't have the supporting mods then it may not be worthi it. Stock turbo, stock lift pump will not really support the HOT Juice Level effeciently. An upgraded air intake and free flowing muffler is also needed to really use the potential power and be able to manage EGTs. You need to fill out signature so we will know what if any other mods you currently have. Just my experiences with the Hot Juice.

what other mods do you have? I've heard that you need an upgraded turbo to handle the PSI. Friend has a 06 2500 mega cab auto trans. AFE stage 2 intake 5" flow master Edge Juice w/monitor and Hot stage, he grenaded his stock turbo with it on hot stage, the guys at local diesel shop told him he should have upgraded his turbo first. He did has a super B loves them both. The Hot stage is a big shot in power but does make the EGT'S climb Quite fast.

I love the Hot Juice upgrade. The performance difference between the 5 and 6 setting is radical. The problem is that you will need supporting mods. At the moment, I've got an upgraded intake, but I haven't done any exhaust modifications or turbo, and my EGT's will limit out on a 0-60 run. It is fun and usable on the highway in the 70-90 range. Also, I wouldn't put it in without upgrading your clutch first.



At the moment, I'm waiting on a new High Tech Turbo that I should get in February. After that, I will be leaving my Edge on 6

I have a 2006 and unlocked mine after about 1000 miles because the curiousity got to me. I feel there is a considerable difference in power. I have a intake and exhaust right now and will be upgrading the transmission and turbo in the near future. I put it on 6 just for short bursts. I really wanted it for the end of the year pulling season, but after I got it I didn't pull anymore but I don't think my egt's will stay cool enough for me to get to the end of the track before it shuts itself off. After my other upgrades Im sure I will have a lot more fun with it, but for only $100. 00 I think it was well worth it. Just be ready to spend more $$ on other mods once you get it

Thanks for all the information, the only mods i have are intake and exhaust, and i cant afford a new turbo, lift pump, or clutch right now so i guess ill leave it alone for now :{ , im going up against an 03 with quadzilla on the dyno soon and was hoping to blow him away but i guess my pride will have to wait

I, too, have been curious about the HOT Update. So, I take it that the HOT Update is a change in programming with an added #6 level (0>>5 stays as is) versus retaining the 0>>5 levels that are increased proportionally each level... ... in a nutshell, #6 would more or less be a "KILL" level, correct ?

Depending on what year your truck is will dictate what power levels the HOT juice shows on the monitor. On my 05' I called Edge after upgrading to the HOT version because the monitor still only showed level 5. They said that you will still only see levels 0 - 5 and they have been adjusted with level 5 being the new HOT setting. I haven't done my TC and transmission yet but it is coming shortly. Let me tell you this thing rocks when you turn it up. Can't wait for the new TC and transmission so I can really see what it can do.

My Juice/Attitude with only air intake and exhaust mods dyno't 365rwhp. My Quad Race box with same mods dyno'd 379rwhp. You should be close if he has standard Quad XZillaraider, but probably a little behind if he has the Race version.

definitely worth it. I used to have one... . mid 13's in the quarter when stacked with an MP8 on a stock turbo... yea it got a little hot
