According to the last Geno's catalogue I have it says the Edge Insight CTS is not compatible with the EcoDiesel. I bought my CTS 2 or 3 years ago when I had a 2011 3500 CTD and liked the extra gauges. I recently called Edge because when I plugged it in to my 2013 3500 I got a somewhat limited selection of gauges; generic read-outs that didn't capture "diesel engine" sensors. The Edge rep told me to download the latest FUSION program from their website, plug the CTS in to my computer and update it. I then asked why the EcoDiesel is not compatible and he said they "JUST" updated the programming for the ED's and it's now available also. One update does it all and gives you their most up to date program. Low and behold he was right and I can now use the CTS in either truck with a great selection of gauges not visbile on the EVIC.

What got me on to this was an article in the latest TDR magazine about Joseph Donnelly's new 2013 whereby he had a great selection of gauges on his CTS that were not showing up on mine (since it hadn't been updated since I bought it in 2012).

The information from the 6.7 CTD OBDII is not quite the same as the ED but still there's a lot available in there for the ED. For example on the ED there is a pre-turbo EGT read-out along with 3 more down the exhaust...that ones not available on the CTD without adding a temperature sensor upstream of the turbo to my knowledge.

If anyones interested I can make a list of what is available for viewing on the CTS on an ED equipped truck.

Noticed on the Insight while driving 400 miles to Calgary today at 75 MPH that the truck starts regen at 65% soot mass in the DPF, which happened to be at 360 miles since the last regen. It took what seemed like about 10 minutes and when finished the DPF soot mass was at 9%.

Patty, I have a test Edge unit that we will reprogram when it is returned to me next week. In the meantime I would certainly like to see the fields that are allowed and, if you have data, the numbers that you are seeing.

Likewise, we will have a new column in the TDR about the EcoDiesel...a chance to write "your story"?

Thanks in advance, Robert Patton

Robert here is a list of the available fields and the readings I was seeing while travelling at 75 MPH, 44*F outside temperature. Some of the read-outs obviously fluctuate depending on topography, wind, etc but this gives you an idea. Hopefully the attachment works.

Hopefully the attachment works...

Yes, it is on the EcoDiesel and works like a charm!
My apologies for the lack of follow-up, it has been busy over the holidays and the magazine is finally off to the printer.
