Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) EDGE Jammer turbo

Has anyone tried one of these turbos. I just got mine but havent had a chance to install it. Oo.

i had one on my truck, and it SUCKED! i think it was a bad turbo though, something was definitely wrong with it, put it on a buddies truck with the same results, gunna put it on a third truck maybe this weekend. Diesel Dynamics didnt want anything to do with it since i bought it used. :-{} . hope you have better luck with yours, post results? what is it going on?

Anyways, I put LOteros bb on my 12V and didnt like it much. It was pretty laggy. I re-read some old posts everywhere and it was touted as a turbo that spooled somewhat similar to a hx35/16 and stuff like that. well, its way laggier than my 35/16 is!!

And the odd part is, I could make the same amount of boost with it as I can with the 35/16, actually 2 psi more with the jammer.

LOtero went from the jammer BB to the SPS 62 and I have to say, It definitley hits way harder than the Jammer did and the egt's are cooler to boot.

Would really like to hear how it turns out. I Had a jammer bb on my 06 for about 1200 miles before it let go. Edge was very quick in their response to send me another, but I did some more research and found an old thread where someone had the same prob, so I opted to return it. It made good power up top, but didnt come on until around 2700 rpm. Switched to the ATS aurora 2000 with the intention of upgrading it with the 5000 compound kit in the future.

My buddy Chris had one and popped it, Turbonetics sent out a new one but instead of using it he opted to sell it.....

I have luis's on my truck right now. Its better with the bigger plate and stuff. pulls hard on top, just kinda laggy between bottom and top. once it hits its sweet spot, I love it.

:{ I haven't been able to put it on and try it yet, haven't had my truck for almost a month now. Put an AGR Rock Ram steering system on and lost 2 Hydro boost units in 2 days! Took it to a friends shop to sort it out. Don't have much time to work on it. I will post my impressions when I get it on.

im all about doin what you want and i understand, different strokes for different folks, but if i was in your shoes i would sell it and get a SPS 62/14. i ran at the dragstrip with the jammer, drove it on the street, all around not impressed, but have been driving with the Phat Shaft on the street and ran at the strip last night with the SPS... . Oo. Oo. Oo. . my two cents. .

My buddy that works at a diesel performance shop told me this turbo has already been discontinued. To many issues not performing, just hearsay at this point.

yup from what i have heard and first hand seen, it is a pretty big failure

Wow!

I just got my jammer turbo installed! :--) This thing really woke up my truck! The lag is close to the HX35 but pulls hard on top! Boost is in the mid 40's compared to the mid to upper 30's of the HX35. EGT's are about 250 deg lower at the same RPM, and I can shove my foot in it up long grades without having to back out of it. :-laf A little less smoke though.
