Hi everyone. Newb. Bare with me.
I have the edge juice/attitude on the truck. I have the cts display set to read my fuel psi among other things. The psi reads 34 most of the time. Just as the weather started turning i noticed the reading fluctuating weird. It would start dropping slowly all the way to 0 then back up to around 15 then down and back up to 34. Well i figured i would change the fuel filter and se what happens. Well... system wouldnt reprime due to a lift pump failure. So i purchased a new pump and a fuel psi tester gauge. Installed the pump, tested and adjusted psi at the injection pump. 19 psi at idle. (Adjustable raptor 100 DDRP) Well low and behold the cts gauge is still doing the same thing, psi going up and down random but mostly reading 34.
So first question is how and where dose the edge take its reading from? Second why is the psi fluctuating randomly? Is it a sensor problem? Why dose it read 34 when my tester gauge reads 19? I know the old pump was bad. Lucky i found it before sudden vp44 death. I have turned the tuner to level 5 when the psi was reading 0 and hammer the throttle to see if she laggs but no, lotts of smoke, lotts of go fast. What am i missing? Deisls are new to me, i have only had the truck for few months now. I am mech inclined well enough to figure things out but im stumped here. I really need to install a mech gauge in the cab so i can see the psi all the time. Dose my fuel tank have another pump on it? Whats funny is i want to blame it on the cold somehow.
Thank you and i hope i posted this in the right place.
Oh. And im puttin a mech pump on when i can afford one!
