Help me decide which Quad box to buy

Hey guys,

I have responded and sent out info to 83 users on this site. Yet I have not heard much response or seen many posts on how the installs are going or how people like the unit.

I have read a good bit from the BETA testers, but that was not the same unit.

The new dyno posted in the other thread shows 123hp and 248lbs. Looks like it was under rated a little.

I got mine from Diesel Performance Shops I talked with John. He was very helpful and they had a great price. The install was a breeze. I had to borrow a 90degree drill from a guy at work and used a sharp bit, the majority of the shavings curled out like they are supposed to. Then I used grease on my tap. The only thing i don't like is the two bolts on the Pyro leads and there is no good way to run the power wire in to the fuse box, they tell you to take it out when you go in for service and that will be a pain but other than that no problems.

Edge Juice with Attitude

I purchased my Edge Juice with attitude for my 2004. 5 from City Muffler and Performance. I shopped around for price and customer service. I found outstanding service and price provided by them. They have plenty in stock.

Install was very easy, friend and I did it in less than an hour.

Product is AWESOME!!! Even on my stock truck I can run all levels.

Thanks again CMP... . Rusty

Installed By Vendor. I Agree, Taking It Out For Dealer Service Will Be A Royal Pain In The ***. A Good Reason To Avoid The stealership I Guess.....

The Product Itself: :--)

What A Huge Difference In Performance Even At Lower Settings.

No Regrets Whatsoever!

Edge juice!

Now that the excitement is over-let someone tell the "TRUTH" about EGT`s!!! I know that they are thru the roof!!! :--)

Oh really?

When stompin' on it on a hills set to one of the higher setting the highest I saw was about 850-900 degrees. Considering the "pain threshold" is 1300-1350 I have plenty of room for more stompin' Oo.

You working for the competition and losin' some business or something?

Had a day off so drove 1 hour to OKC and had John Jr. at City Muffler put if on. Was great getting to know him. Discussed a few other options that I may add later. Truck runs GREAT!!!!! EGT's usually 800-900. Can run on 5 all the time, but have a little too much black smoke. I run in 4 all the time now. Will try the different settings for mileage after I get through playing. VROOOOOOOM!!!!!! Trying to take it easy, but the Kid keeps coming out? 90 in the 1/4 at 17. 2 seconds. WOW Never thought a diesel would do that?? Set cruise coming home from OKC and the overhead showed . 7 more than usual. Will check by hand later to see if overhead is still correct.

Ain't this the truth! I know I've surprised the crap out of some folks out on the road when I suddenly run away and leave them in the dust.

We'll get our mpg's as soon as we're done entertaining ourselves... :-laf

Thoughts on installed E/A

:D :D :D :D ... all this smiling is starting to hurt... :D :D :D :D

Well I bought the EDGE juice/attitude for the mileage increase, so much for that! There is NO WAY I’ll be able to keep my foot out of it :-laf . The setup for all the different displays is very simple to use and all the values are very responsive. I couldn't be more satisfied with the purchase, now I need to order the A-pillar, I will go though diesel performance parts (DPPI) as I have through most of my performance purchases. Mark, Kenny and the rest of the staff provide top-notch service! And special thanks from my right foot and a desperate cry for help from my clutch, tires, and wallet to Eric the instigator... . I mean..... initiator of the group purchase. Now Eric, could you please not mention the 19. 5’s for at least a few paydays ;) !

Thanks for the help

I felt the same on the power wire. What I ended up doing was to notch the cover on the Northeast corner as you face the fuse box cover from the front of the truck. I used the velcro for the box and then purchased another fuse box cover to switch out when I take the truck in for service. The velcro will cause unwanted questions. Hope that helps you. ;)

On level 5 at 11500' above sea level, foot to the floor highest recorded EGT's=1150. No problems here (except with the local Sheriff).

Pillar Mount

The UPS man made a welcome visit the other day. He was nice enough to drop off the pillar mount for the Edge / Attitude.

I took a few pics of the mount and a "lights off" pic to show how the lighting color matched for those of you who have not bought one.

The pillar mount is from Mark Craig at Diesel Performance Parts (www.dieselperformanceparts.com).

The mount snaped in place in about 2 minutes, very slick. Congrats on a nice design.

The color match was also very good.

I recomend the mount to anybody who bought the attitude. The mount edge gave you is okay, but I really didn't want holes drilled in my pillar.

Looks really good. BUT.....

Is it easy to remove so you don't have any trace of gauges and a chip for the service guys to freak out about? How do you hide the Attitude box itself if you do remove the pillar for service??? Disconnect and pull lead?

I have mine velcro'd just below the dash cubbie hole and just above the cup holder. If I have to stash it, I rip it from the velcro, stick it in the cup holder and close it. Then I stick my "alarm clock" to the velcro...

As much as I'd like the pillar, the "hide it from the dealer" issue seems to rear it's ugly head.

I really do like your set up though...

The great hide

SHyans,

The single screw removes the mount (it's in the factory hole). It takes about 30 seconds. Close the cap over the hole (don't bother to put the stock screw back in) and away you go.

my 04. 5 with less than 5,000 miles on it is running pretty consistent 0-60 in 7. 1 seconds, and my quarter mile time is 91 @15. 7. I do have a lot of wheel spin and the salt and moisture on the roads this time of year in wisconsin are not ideal for great launches, Pretty sure I could get a sub 15 quarter mile with better road conditions... Keep your ears open...

How I do it...

I've had some practice with it now, but with the exception of the EGT gauge, which I leave in, then it takes about 15mins or less to remove everything else. I bought a separate cover for my fuse box which has the velcro on it for the Juice box. I replace the cover,. . no indication of anything but stock then. I pull all the connections and unplug the Attitude and pull it. I have a X-monitor which mounts on the A pillar. The bottom of the X-monitor is flat and I velcro the Attitude to the bottom edge of the X-monitor. It's perfectly positioned to access and read from that position so I don't use the factory mount (Edge) for the Attitude. If they should ask about the other EGT probe I'll say the gauge is out for repair and I have a pre and post gauge setup to closely monitor everything. That's how I do it.

even on level 4 where I keep it, I managed to get 15. 3 mpg at 80 mph on my return trip from Texas two weeks ago. I can get 22mpg and higher if I want to stay under 60, but with the attitude that just does not appear to be an option/
