I am looking for information they don't give you when you call Edge Products. I have read many many threads but I have not seen the information that I am looking for. It appears that many members really like Edge Products. I would like some reliable additional horsepower and torque but mileage is very important as I average between 800-1000 miles a week.

What have you seen performance wise?

What kind of measurable mileage gains are you seeing?

How many run just the Juice module (w/o the attitude or A2 monitors)?

I had been considering Downloaders but recent threads about corrupted ecm's has turned me off and I am not comfortable or do not know enough about boxes that manipulate fuel pressures. Thanks.

I've had the juice with monitor since almost new. I feel the performance boost is very good but not crazy. I have had some reliability issues with the juice but Edge has stood behind it. I also upgraded my transmission at same time so I don't have any concerns with my heavy foot except towing uphill, one has to watch the EGTs.

Juice

I have been running the Juice and attitude for the last 10,000 miles and am more than pleased with the power and the increase in mileage. Strong power from about 1400rpm's up. Before the juice I was averaging 17. 9 mixed city and freeway and 20. 1 on the long 70 MPH freeway trips. After the Juice I'm averaging 18. 4 mixed and 23. 9 on the long freeway trips, as long as I dont drive it like the race car that it is. All of the MPG's are hand calc. The freeway MPG drop quick once you hit about 75+MPH. My average MPG is down a little now since the HOT version came back because I'm having way to much fun on the highest setting. Now it will lay a good smoke screen and spin the tires all the way to 4th. Just having to much for blowing smoke on the ricers:-laf Edge has been great with there customer service and had my hot version back ASAP. If you are looking to build into big HP down the road I would say go with the TST but if you just want some extra power and MPG I'm a strong supporter of the Juice. Good luck

I have the EDGE J/A and have been running it for about 12,000 miles. I have had no problems to date with this thing. I run on level 2/3 all the time except for when more power is needed or a smoking is required :-laf . I have seen about 2mpg increase from where I started. I think this is a good mod for the money.

Thanks For Your Question. I have a near new 2006, 2500, 2WD, Quad, Auto, Long Bed. I'm looking for better MPG. Based on what I hear and read the Edge is a good choice. I did speak to Banks yesterday and you might want to consider the Banks 6 Gun Tuner. It fits between the factory chip and the engine. It controls and monitors more and better than Edge and you can remove it without a trace if you need warranty work. Banks will also try to sell you a bigger exhaust too. I have concerns about noise on that point. (The factory pipe looks and sounds pretty good to me. ) One other point I will definitely recommend is to switch to Rotella 5W-40 Synthetic Oil (After 25-30,000 Miles) The reports on this are very positive in the 5-10% range.

Right now my thinking (In Order Of Priority, Cost and Benefit) is 1. Synthetic Oil, 2. Banks 6 Gun Tuner (On a low setting), 3. Larger Intake Filter with reduced restriction, 4. Banks High-Ram Intake and Exhaust System (If Not Too Noisy), 5. Gear Vendors Overdive (Add-On to Transmission).

I'd Be Interested In Other Peoples Thoughts Too.

2006 Dodge, 2500, 2WD, Quad, Long Bed - No Mods YET

I like how people say you can just disconnect the edge or banks chip when you take it in for warranty work. This being true that you can, but what about the egt probe. I am thinking that if something has gone wrong and it needs to be warrantied that the mechanic is going to see this EGT probe line running to nothing and then start to think that you must have a performance upgrade.

Just a thought.

Exactly. :--)

If I had a serious issue. I would go out and purchase a single pod + EGT guage and plug it in.

They shoudn't (maybe even can't) void a warrenty over a temp guage. Maybe if they find metal bits in your turbo (and that's what your are in for). Then maybe... . It's like putting on a different muffler and they use that as an excuse to void things over a CP3 or something.

My plan is to first by a 3 guage pilliar mount (trans, egt, boost)... . then when I get the j/a... . leave the trans (j/a doesnt do trans temp), and the boost (beleive the j/a cant accurately read over 40)... . and put the j/a where the EGT guage goes using one of the 2" guage adaptors..... then when I take it in for service, unplug the J/A and hook the thermocouple to the mechanical EGT guage... .

This way you have full guages either way, no signs for the dealer, and you can double check the JA readings vs mech guages.

Just be clear that you cannot run a "box" AND an EGT guage off of the same thermocoule at the same time.

The 3rd position on the pilliar would either be the J/A or the EGT..... with one connection to the Thermocouple... . should be able to run the boost and j/a simultaneously correct?

I've got about 50K on my J/A. Excellent power. Attitude display is pretty much worthless except for the EGT. None of the other readouts do any good. I do like the extra adjustability of the attitude though.

I had a few issues when it was new, but Edge took care of it and it's running fine. I still get codes occassionally, but I have to learn that "adjust on the fly" doesn't refer to everything you can adjust.

I didn't get any mileage bump at all. Kinda ticked about that. I bought it solely for the mileage increase. My EZ in my '01 gave me a solid 0. 5-1. 0 towing, was hoping for anythig close to that with the Juice. I guess I'll just have to settle for kick***** power. :-laf :-laf

EDIT: When banks or anyone affiliated with them tries to give you their sales pitch, just hit the mute button. Theirs is no safer or warranty friendly than anyone elses. High ram intake... paalleeeeeze...

My J/A has worked fine since the day I put it in. I'm not seeing outrageous milage gains though. I too am kind of ticked about that. But, can't complain about the power. Oh, one more thing, I had to take mine in for warranty work. Took the J/A out, plugged the exhaust port. Good to go. I'm sure they saw the bolt plugging the hole but they didn't say anything about it.

in order to eliminate the issue, go to your nearest hardware store and pick up a 1/8 NPT pipe cap or plug, make sure you lock tight it down, and thats it they cant say nothing about that!!!. ive done it for years---if they ask just tell them your egt gauge isent working properly and you sent it in for warranty repair!!. oh yea im a big supporter of the edge juice as well, mainly for mild to upper moddest power increases, relitively safe to!. good luck! :-laf

I have a post turbo autometer egt gauge, and when i take my edge off to go to the dealer i put the post turbo probe in the manifold were the egde probe was and put the plug in the post turbo tap! I have the E/J/A on for 9000 miles, and LOVE every mile. P. S. my right foot won't allow any mileage gains!!

Thank you for the information. Some of you have read my mind w/ the EGT probe, and that is one reason I am considering just the Edge Juice w/o attitude monitor until I hit 100K. After that, I could buy the monitor I want - Attitude, A2, whatever. One additional question - Does the Juice module extend the power band through a longer rpm range (does it pull longer or does it level off around the same rpm)? Again - Thanks.

I have over 20,000 miles on my 2005 Ram 3500 with the Edge Juice w/ attitaude and it works just like advertised.

I chassis dynoed the truck and the power gains were very close to advertised.

I think on level #1 I get a small increase in mialage, maybe 1 mpg, but level #1 is still around 35 hp more than stock.

I usually drive on level #1 for econony, or level #3 for fun.

Level #4 will leave most in the dust (I am pretty sure the truck is over 400 HP by level 4. )

Level #5 Dynoed really well (439 HP/831 ft/lbs), but on the drag strip I have only tried it twice.

First time I smoked the tires about 1/3 way down the track, second time I was in 4-wheel drive, and I think it sensed trans slippage or high EGT's (not sure) and de-fueled so it ran slower than level #4.

I have had the Juice throw a code twice, both when towing.

I contacted Edge and they asked if I had 4:10 gears with the Auto transmission (I do. ) My Juice is an olded software version, and they have to re-program the computer for the newer software version and it should fix the problem.

RPM range is same as stock, just more torque and power.

Can anyone tell me what a good price for the J/A is? The best that I have found is $735 to the door.

That's a really good price. I looked around quite a bit before buying mine about a week ago and the best I found was $764. They were as high as the upper $900's other places. Jump on it!
