I installed the edge juice with attitude on my 03, when i set it to any of the settings going down the road there sounds like a hi pitched fast paced ticking coming from the engine compt. , I don't hear anything when it is at idle, anyone have this happen? Also I have run it in the first 3 settings, milage, towing and drive, I seem to get better mileage in the drive program than in the mileage program, sounds strange, but it is 1 or 2 mpg better in drive prgm. any one else have anything like thishappen? When reading through all the paperwork on the edge, they recomend not going above level 3 without further mods, is it safe to run it in level 4 without doing anything else to my truck at this time without risk to my engine etc as long as I keep a watch on the guages, my next mods I was planning on were intake and exhaust upgrades i wonder if that will be enough so I can run it in 4 and 5, any thoughts? one last thing, when towing I pull about a 10,000lb load, am I better of in the tow mode or the drive mode for more power? Thanks,

The ticking is probably from the increased timing, the 1-2 better milage? is this hand calc or overhead as the computer is thrown off by the Juice. It's possible for increased milage but it's hard to get 2 mpg improvement. And I belive the warning on levels is due to stock transmission limitations not intake or exhaust. I would monitor your EGT's for the towing question and your transmission capabilities. Fill out your sig. so we'll have an idea of your setup. Good Luck!

While intake and exhaust will help a little, those aren't really the first upgrades they are talking about. I don't know if you have a manual or an auto transmission, but your first consideration should be your transmission. If you'll watch your backdown on your Attitude monitor, you can probably slip your clutch/torque converter on level 3. You may even be able to slip it on 2... Either way, you should look into an upgraded clutch if you're manual, or an upgraded tourque converter and valve body if you're auto. Those two upgrades will help even a stock truck last longer. The stock TC is pretty loose and the shifting is way too soft.

Another thing to consider is the size of your turbo. My EGT's are happy on levels 1 and 2, but on 3 I can hit backdown. A larger turbo to flow more air will help ALOT in regards to EGT control. The turbo on these things is pretty much useless after 30-35 psi... After that it's just hot, expanding air.

Believe me, I'm not trying to give another sales pitch but I would reccomend that you call the guys at NGM. I'm not saying they're the only diesel shop in town, but they have been more than good to me, so I'd have to reccomend them. They could explain the transmission particulars better than I could. Plus they've got the 1/4 mile time to back it up. :)
