Edge Juice W/Attitude

I just installed my edge juice on an 03, and love it. But im wondering what i should set my defueling paramaters at, and just what kind of numbers i should be seeing?

From the information i received i set my max boost at 40psi (this is the most psi recommended for a stock intake system), i set the exhaust temp to 1350 and the alarm to 1300 so it will warn me before it starts defueling. i set it at 1350 because the juice will start to defuel before it gets the that temp in order to try and not exceed it but even the stock settings will allow mine to climb slowly. i personally dont want to exceed 1400 degrees. some might agree and some might not but the way i look at it is once that alarm goes off i start to let off, so it shouldn't even need to defuel to maintain the threshold. And if i dont get off of it i dont personally feel that the temp will be that high long enough to do a great deal of damage. i set the trans at 220 but if your using a tow/haul or a manual transmission you shouldn't even see temps that high. i was told never to let the transmission over 250 degree.

What Borgardt said is a good starting point and once you get the feel for it you can set it to your preference. If your only upgrade is the Edge, i don't think you will boost past 41lbs. Set your low boost fueling in every level, it makes a huge difference in throttle responce.

Thanks for all the information, currently on stage to i can hit 38 or better but i left all the alarm at the factory setting except the egt which i turned down to 1300, as for the low boost fueling, i left it all at factory, i havent played with it at all due to lack of knowledge with the common rails. I already have a afe filter, banks high ram, and a custom 5" exhaust, all was on the truck when i bought it except for the juice module.

With the low boost fueling set to 5 as oppose to 1 you will get more smoke, the power will come on very quickly basicly as soon as you get on the pedal, and the throttle response is almost immediate. Try it you'll love it. It won't hurt your truck in any way but it may hurt your transmission on any level higher than three if it is stock. I have all of my fueling set at 5 and i drive on level 4 daily for the past 50,000 miles and sometimes on 5. Have fun. Don't forget to set your turbo cool down. Cool feature.

03-04 Juice doesn't have a cooldown feature.

In case you ever want more there is a "Hot" update available (50 more ponies) but you will need a bigger turbo to really use it. Level 5 (100 Hp) with a stock turbo can get hot pretty quick.

A cheap turbo upgrade would be a used 04. 5 and up turbo.

well currently i only run it on stage 2 because im afraid of blowing the head gasket and burning up the clutch, so those are my next two upgrades, i know the stock head cant hold much more then 40 lbs of boost and i can hit that easily, so im not using the other stages at all, till i know it will handle it anyways.

I'm not sure about your truck but my friend on his 06 is pushing 59psi with the stock head gasket and head bolts. His ARP head studs are in the garage waiting for me. Sorry about the cool down feature. I thought it was the same as 06.

50 PSI is the max most people will recomend for a stock engine so your buddy is pushing it.

Also consider the turbos MAP range, beyond a certain point on any turbo the boost doesn't supply more air it just gets it super hot, the hot air expands giving you bigger numbers but not more air.

I think on the 03-04, 27-30 is the max usable boost pressure, 04. 5 and up has a bigger turbo and can go higher.

I guess most people are wrong. He's been beating the heck out of it for a year now with no problems.

i personally have never seen an 03 boost higher than 25 ever with just a juice added to it!!. my truck (05)will pull 36 to 42 all day and i do it regularly with absolutely no problems ever to clutch or heads or anything !! my . 02

Just installing the boost elbow i could hit 30, i adjusted the low boost fueling, but it really doesnt smoke at all, but either way i love it, you can just tell the truck wants to go, but ive been holding her back.
