Looking for informed opinions on running an Edge Juice/Attitude with stock 99 Automatic transmission... Could I tow 3-9K on settings 1 or 2 and keep my stock transmission or... what minimum modifications would/should I do to be safe? Figure I would run some good synthetic fluid, watch temps, etc...

Also, I think I want to put my temp sensor in the transmission pan-- I know the temps are lower there but wouldn't that give a guy a good idea of temperature. I figure if the pan reads say... "X" degrees can I assume that before it enter the cooler it was probably "X+ 20" degrees.

Any recommendation on excellent Auto transmission fluid.

Should this question be posted in the products/accessories area... not sure. Sorry if this post is in the wrong place. Let me know, I'm new to this site.

Hi,

I have been told 60hp is the max. you should add to a truck with a stock 47re. My friend added 50hp injectors to his '99 and towed his 9k 5th wheel occasionally. After about 20,000 miles he ended up destroying the torque converter. I'm running a reman. factory-warranty 47re added 2 years ago. I've just added a Quadzilla M3 (timing only) to my '99 which is suppose to add about 30hp. It's a noticeable improvement and sure makes me want to add more power :D, however, until I upgrade the transmission I'm gonna play it safe and leave well enough alone.

This is just my opinion. I could be wrong. :)
