Folks, I just received yet another new box from edge. Yeah, last time I said I would sell it and get a TST or something. Well, assuming it stays in working condition, I'm going to keep this one around a little bit!

This one has the detachable harness and turbo timer. The features that the 2nd gens got with their Juice with attitude!

They refined the programs (despite what they may tell you), or maybe the new and upgraded electronics are helping. But man, is power SMOOTH!. I've never seen/heard that stocker spool so fast!. you see 10, 30 may or may not have time to blink and smacks 40! Smoke isn't to bad on Hot, but she sure pulls now. I should get a mechanical boost guage and see were the turbo's really spinning at... :-laf

EGT, this is something I'm not sure about out as this version supports 2000EGT. I still have my crusty old probe in place as it's going to be a chore to swap out the new one with. I may ask edge tomorrow to see if the new probe is calibrated any different.

As far as EGT temps (old probe), I can now hit 1550-ish. She gets hot quick.

I didn't even have to turn up the pressure box yet, the EZ was on 1 the entire time.

It's a toss up here. The stock brakes are starting to get upset with all this power, however, the stock turbo isn't exactly happy either. :-laf

did you pay for a new box or some sort of upgrade? I just sent my box in for the hot flash. will it come back with smooth programs?

Figured out my high EGT problem last night while cruising around. This box is actually dumping enough fuel to drain my rail. Took a few runs on the highway to connect the dots :) rail drops to about 15 or below and EGT's run WAY UP.

So, I started playing with the backdowns. Let the Edge box back down just that little bit for me ya know? EGT's would nail 1600 and that's were I had my max at, that would yield 100% back down! wooops!

Boost limit to what the edge sees as 41psi (I've seen 43 some how... ) and I moved the EGT's up to 1700. Seem to work out much better. max EGT's around 1550, the rail stays between 17 and 20 depending on the initial RPM. if you WOT at 1600, you'll run out of rail and the CP3 won't catch up until a shift. if you roll into it hard around 2000rpm, the cp3 keeps up... . I suppose this is where T&C's rail may work out very well with a little extra fuel waiting around. I've seen 20-40% backdown at higher speeds with this setup.

Boost is slower at cruising speeds. at 65mph, I used to see 6psi, now it's 3 to 4 (egt 600-650). Interesting... . at 85, boost is at 16-18 (EGT 800ish). this is more normal. I suspect this is some drastic fuel economy changes to this new box.

I also sent in my old unit (been on the truck since early 05) and received the new programs apparently.

I had really enjoyed my old setup, but wanted the Hot program as well as the turbo timer (call Kelly Edge if you want this, he's very helpful). As with all of the Edge products I've used, I was real happy with the packaging and the nice harness.

However, I hooked this up to my old EGT gauge and saw hotter temps almost immediately! Doesn't matter if I'm running on 1 or on 6 (with or without the Crazy Larry), the EGT's hit my prescribed limit much sooner now.

Tried running the truck on the Edge alone on all different settings and was very disappointed with the amount of overfueling (plan on running twins and DPP Stage II injector tips later on) that it had. Called Edge back and they informed me that there was no pressure increase with this setup--timing and duration only. I was disappointed to learn this (I had never got a straight answer on here before when I asked people if the J/A increased pressure). I was hoping to be able to sell the Crazy Larry to get back some of money for a PacBrake.

Still have to run the Crazy Larry I guess... . put it back on, and the truck feels like it has enough overfueling to be able to support future mods--Looking forward to upgrading my truck in the future with this combo.

Upgrade actually an upgrade?

Not sure about the software, I'm sure it will be the old stuff. It's $75 for the upgraded J/A system.

Upgraded meaning "hot" setup, or the turbo timer and harness difference? What harness difference is there, worth the $75?

Are you guys saying you don't like the new edge programming? And am I reading the ver 17. 2 correctly, I think I have something like ver 3. 1 (ancient?)

also I thought it was weird that my version advertized "40-125hp gains, 275ft. lbs of tq, and 5 levels... . now the web site advertizes "five levels of adjustable power ranging from 25 to 100 horsepower – and increase torque up to 250 ft. lbs. "

So, less power, unless you get the hot upgrade?

The hot program is just smoother and possibly makes more power (I'll find out on the 20th).

I'm happy with it. It looks to have more available fuel for other upgrades.

$75 for the turbo timer and the new harness

That advertisement could be just for the 6. 7 motor.

Just wish they would at least offer the option to show rail pressure, and hold records for max EGT and boost.

Seems stupid that they don't!

The new gear indicator on my 07 is cool. Even tells when the computer commands lockup!

It also has a trans temp! Not sure where the sensor is... Reads about 20° higher than my in pan sensor.

I have not had good luck stacking it yet... But does run nice and smooth by itself!

Yeah, that is retarded. They should record boost and EGT.

The Juice/attitude does not mess with pressure it self, tho it should be able to read it via the data port (I think. )

I like my Di Procol Rail gauge tho.
