I'm looking to add some sort of chip to my truck and wondering what people's opinion is on the Edge Juice with Attitude for my truck. I have to gauges in the truck as it is so I figured with this I'd get all my gauges plus some more power and hopefully mileage. Pretty much everything about my truck is in my signature but if there's any other questions that would help please ask.

With the rebate going on right now I'm looking for some advice soon becuase if I decide to order one I'd like to get my order in before the deadline for the rebate.

I have been pleased with the performance of my Juice W/Attitude. I've had it for about 2 years and haven't had any problems. I'm not claiming that it's the best tuner on the market, but I'll argue with anyone that it's the best value.

I really like the adjustability. A word of warning: You WILL need a fuel system upgrade. The stock lift pump and banjo bolts will not support the power increase of this unit. I'm personally running a Walbro pump with a big fuel line kit. I've had good luck with my setup, but there are a lot of choices out there and most of them are very good.

*edit* My personal experience is that a stock "14 psi at idle" lift pump with stock banjo bolts will drop below 5 psi when the boost starts to build on level 3 and higher. I guess with the fuel psi gauge and alert system, you can see what works for you. I personally would plan on a fuel system.

Love mine. Had the Comp and full gauges before... like having my pillar back and everything integrated with the alerts/backdown/turbo timer. Really nice package for the money. I think the Comp made about 10hp more though in actuality.

I disagree with BDaugherty though, if all you have is a Juice, and your stock lift pump works as good as it's supposed to, you should not run out of fuel with only the Juice.

If you think you will like the edge, you better look at the quadzilla adrenaline, it puts all chips to shame, I have installed two and sold two more and every customer is super happy with them.

the adrenaline is a very nice unit. but, it doesn't monitor fuel pressure right now. also it's quite a bit more money than the Edge. first thing you should do is have the fuel pressure checked, b/c even w/ a 65hp chip if your pump isn't in perfect working order it will drop in pressure. the Juice is still our top selling "complete system"

yeah it doesn't right now but don't be surprised for an update to come out once they get fuel pressure sensors all lined up.

I'm not gonna argue that the edge isn't a good chip its a very good basic chip I just like that the adrenaline is updateable and puts out amazing safe power and I havn't even messed with the custom tuning yet.

I like mine, I'm sure it could be better, but for the money I paid, I'm very happy. I don't race my truck (very much) so I can give a little in the hp area for the peace of mind that all the guages etc. gives me. I set the limits a little lower so people that borrow the truck can't hurt it. I can even hide it under the dash and put it on the stock or tow setting to keep people from messing with the settings and protect the truck (IF) I get stupid enough to let someone borrow it.

Thanks for all the advice and help guys! I think I've decided that I'm finally going to break down and spend the money and get one coming. And I'm going to try and do it before Monday so I can still get this $100 rebate.

One thing to point out... if I understood your comment correctly: The Edge comp level 5 is the same as the JWA level 6 (hot). According to Edge, peak tq and hp will be the same, but the fueling curve is more aggressive between JWA levels 5 and 6 which is why your "seat of the pants" feeling was essentially correct.

Actually, while Edge does claim this (I used to work for Edge/Diesel Dynamics, so I'm familiar), on the DYNO, the J/A on level 6 was about 10hp peak less than the drag comp on 5x5.

Smarty might be better. Don't know. I got my edge for $420 to the door and it would cost me that much to buy good guages that do everything the edge does. As long as it is still working, I'll stick with the edge. If something better comes along and I get a new truck, I might try that.
