Well out of all the replies, I dont see one that says to go with the Banks. Edge it is!! Now comes the decision about the Juice or the Hot Juice and the A2 or the Attitude controller. There are just too many choices out there.
Your stock clutch will hold anything a Banks can toss at it, and anything the Edge box can toss at it, so long as you know how to drive a clutch correctly and limit the amount of slippage when driving day to day. Now, sled pulling or drag racing once a weeking, the stock clutch won't last very long.
I ran the reg. Juice for 20,000 miles easly. upgrade to the hot for about 10,000 and the stock clutch was fine (57,000) and I just opeted to replace it cuz I had some cash burning a hole in my pocket.
This is 99% unloaded travel tho.
Do you have the G65 or the NV5600 for a transmission? if you have the NV5600, your good to go to 450RWHP. If it's the G56, the flywheel may be a costly change if you with to put anything more the 400-450 to the ground.
And 3rd gens don't use "comp" boxes. The 3rd gen equivelent would be an Edge EZ or some sort of "pressure" box.
Stacking a pressure box will prolly be one way to slip a stock clutch since they will make crazy amounts of low end torque.
IMHO, the idea way to slowly upgrade a 3rd gen would be.
1. BOX: Edge, maybe hot juice program
2. Clutch: SBC FE, or some auto upgrade
3. FASS + Fuel pressure guage
4. Pressure box: Edge EZ
At this stage, the stock turbo will be at it's LIMITS, as in, if you push it, you could destroy it and break other things. so keep boost as close to 40psi as possible and no more.
5. Turbo(s) (depending on turbo, bigger exhaust)
6. Injectors,
6. 1 and logicly while it's apart, studs
6. 2 And if you plan on more then 60PSI fo boost, might wanna firering things.
7. Replace Edge with TST. Sell Edge juice, keep EZ.
8. Modded CP3
Might not be a bad idea to install the FP gueage sooner and see what' the lift pump it doing and move the FASS purchase up a notch. But I wouldn't add rail pressure until you have something to back up the CP3.
This will put you on a nice slippery road map to 700hp at the wheels.
But the second a 4000+ RPM kit comes out, it's moving to the top of the list for me.
