Hoss, Edge is the name of the company, the Edge EZ is the mild fueling and timing box. The Edge Power Edge is a 3 position (actually 4) major fueling box that taps the pump wire, it has no timing function. The Edge Comp is both of them rolled up into one slick little box. Hope this helps.

I've read on here that you can get 2 more mpg out of it if driven normally. The clutch should hold fine with just the ez. Any more bombs beyond that and the clutch needs to be looked at.

For a first mod, the EZ can't be beat. Yes, in some cases greater mileage is noticed. Also, on a stock clutch, some are okay, some don't like the additional power. But with their guarantee, try it, if you don't like it, return it in 60 days.

EZ

Heres a few answers to some of your questions.

As far as a warrenty trail, yes and no. Nothing that is visible to the naked eye, but a smart Dodge Tech. will be able to see it in the ECM. I wouldn't worry about that though. It takes 5 mins. to install and remove so it grear for warrenty work.

If any one is interested, I am going to have one for a 2001 for sale shortly, email me if your interested.

ecarney, for a new ETH I would put the EZ on. There just isn't a lot to be gained by putting a COMP or a PE on the ETH. Personally I would not risk the warranty for the extra 15-25HP one of the major boxes would give.

DStevenson, some people have reported a mileage gain, most have in fact. I think 2 MPG is pretty optimistic, 1 MPG is more realistic in my experience. Also bear in mind that if you use the extra power that you WILL lose a few MPG.

Hoss, your clutch may or may not tolerate the EZ. Some are over 300 HP at the rear wheels and tow with no stock clutch problems. Some have added just the EZ and had major slippage. I don't know what to say other than put it on and try it, if it slips and you can't/won't put a new clutch in send the EZ back. If it holds and you are happy with the bang for the buck keep it.

Hope this helps answer your questions.

ecarney,

I have been very very happy with my EZ on my ETH. As for stock clutch I have been one of the lucky ones and mine is holding fine with 303 hp at the rear wheel but I do have a South bend one hand. (EZ, 275's) I did see a mileage increase with the mods (see sig for total) but it only works if you can stay out of the go pedal but that happens rarely. :D :D

I am thinking of going to a comp.

Ed,

I had the same questions you did until I called Piers. Since the COMP box is "only a little more" than the EZ, and works the same as the EZ if you don't use the pump hookup (someone correct me if I'm wrong), I went with it. It allows for more bomb'ing in the future should you decide to do so, and the price can't be beat.

Also on this forum, many folks had revealed that they started with the EZ, but later wished they had gone with the COMP in the first place because of its flexibility and all.

Check out www.piersdiesel.com for his specials. Call Piers and talk with him... he's a great guy and very knowledgeable on the products he represents as well as the competition. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just a satisfied customer. Hope this helps.

I would gather that I've seen a 1/2 mpg increase in fuel mileage. I like the power it has given me. I installed 275's which makes the truck run really sweet. There is a marked improvement in acceleration while towing. Also, while towing with a five speed you may notice some vibration in the driveline between 1750-2000 rpm in 5th gear. Try to avoid shifting into fifth and landing under 2000 rpm. The vibration doesn't appear to be a driveline problem (mine did it prior to the BOMB's, just not as noticeable), but it can lead to the 5th gear nut failure. Smart driving will probably eliminate most problems that could crop up with these lower scale upgrades. I love mine. And it cost me less than a grand for the extra ponies.

Forgot to mention - No problems with the factory clutch.

After adding the EZ, our ETH really woke up! This is the way it should have come from the factory. The power spike at 2100 RPM is gone - with the EZ, it pulls whenever you nail it! :D

Our truck is set up for towing, not racing. Unfortunately, we added the EZ and boost elbow the same weekend as the 4" exhaust, but between the mods, I've seen much improved midrange torque (we pull hills at 1/2-2/3 throttle in 6th that were full throttle in 5th), 200 degF lower exhaust temps (1250 degF stock - 1050 degF now) and 10% better fuel mileage while towing.

So far, the factory clutch isn't slipping, but I'd be willing to bet it would if I added injectors!
