Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) edge pluse hooked as a ez

ok, you teck heads, heres aquestion for you. i have a 2001 club cab auto. i have had gauges installed, boost, transmission temp and exhaust temp. the edge pluse is in hooked as a e-z. the transmission upgrade is in the spring. should i go back and get the thingey that holds the waste gate closed past 20 lbs of boost? or wait till i have the transmission done. i know im dumping boost past 20 lbs, but with a stock transmission, is this better? matt
