BROVO Pkozlowski/ Nice explaine I agree with you, any one who sell a product should sand behind it at any coast. I can't believe that some of these people are defending edge just because they produce thousands . NOT THE POINT just stand behind the product. Make it work or refund. Even Walmart has satisfaction garenteed I won't bue any of there products in support of a fellow TDR member thanks Pkozlowski This is how the TDR works Thanks Ski
 
pkozlowski-might want to change ur sig,:p igot my smarty/tst cause of the tdr members saying although the comp is problematic its good . no thanks! i need my truck to run daily ,its not ok if it dies sometimes. i dont want a guaranteed p. o. s. (ive got one of those w/the trans now!). there are other threads like yours out there and this is obviously not all that unusual,so i agree that our trucks have enough troubles to deal with we dont need more! we look to the aftermarket to help us fix/upgrade our trucks . no product with poor customer service(did i mention this is my third trans in 4 mos?) is worth squat! nothing is more unsettling than getting the run around after the sale. i here great things about SOME of the people/distributors out there i wish more could take their lead... imo
 
that is the point ,there not ALL bad ,but how many ARE??? and what will they do about it? KDP or lift pumps ring a bell here?

Not picking on you, but did you ever think that there may be something with your truck that is very rare? Maybe a software glitch that only shows up when you have the box on it.



Have you tried any other brands to see if it is something way out there?

Ya LaserBob I found out as soon as I took off on the test drive for my JWA I had a problem with my truck. Almost no fuel pressure. THANKS EDGE! But.....



While I agree there may be somthing else wrong with my truck.

I always seem to get handed the "strange" problems trust me.



When they fired up my truck and it wouldn't shut down

and EDGE said the NEW Juice box is bad. I had enough.

That is a quality control issue. That isn't a problem with my truck.

This is like try 5 or 6 to get the initial problem fixed.



The JWA seems to work fine, It's not missing or bucking or

doing any of the strange things the EZ did.

It runs smooth as glass. It has a bad circuit with the

turbo cool down timer.



I haven't tried any other kind of box yet. I don't know anyone

that has one I can try. And I'm not going to start buying

boxes just to see IF it will work. That gets REAL expensive fast.

Because being an electrical item, once I plug it in most places

won't take it back. So to see if it's my truck or the EZ just

cost me the price of another box! I can't afford that.



It was hard enough to talk my wife into the EZ

let alone the JWA. She is hounding me to just take it out

and be done with it. So if you think I have a problem with

EDGE. You have not seen anything. LOL!!!

Yes if the warranty paid for it you were lucky. Wait until the pump goes bad when you on a trip or really need the truck and have to pay for it yourself. It will change your thinking on boxes???Reliability is everything!!
 
I had an Edge EZ on my truck for a couple weeks, never had any major issues, but the engine did not run as smooth as stock, alot more rattle from the valvetrain, I also thought the quality was sub par, and the horsepower gain was just so so. I returned it to the dealer I got it from and bought a Banks Six Gun, I know guys around here are kinda down on the Banks, but quality was top notch, like it was made out of solid billet, engine runs smooth as butter and much better power without ever getting the EGT's out of hand. I was not a TDR member at the time and had I been I probably would have got a Smarty but the Six Gun with speedloader does provide some great power without overstressing the drivetrain, just my two cents, still want to try a Smarty though.

Your missing the point. I was simply explaining the numbers on faulty product. Any manufacturer has a percentage of faulty product, and yes, it is up to the manufacturer to take care of their faulty units. I personally know people who have nothing but good things to say about Edge's customer service, but once again, you will find someone with a bad experience even if a company has a fantastic reputation for customer service. My recent experience with Suncoast being a perfect case in point, I am happy with the transmission, but a little upset about the treatment I received when calling with a question.



I would expect this kind of treatment from Bank's, but am frankly surprised to hear about it from Edge. But it may be a sign of the times, since Edge is now owned by MSD. Hopefully this is not the case, but I find the bigger the company, the poorer the c. s. tends to be.



I believe customer service is #1! I personally have upgraded a customer to a pulley driven misting pump from a direct drive at my expense due to issues that I could never quite fully explain, it was just one of those problem units that no matter what I tried it wouldn't work properly. Built many just like it, all still working, but this one just wouldn't last more than a few weeks to a month. So yes, Edge should step up to the plate and supply a new unit, keep the customer happy, and save their reputation a bruise.
 
And just so everyone knows. I don't totally hate EDGE.

I don't. I think they have some problems and customer

service and quality could be alot better is all.



Heck, my brother in law just emailed me last night saying he

purchased an EDGE box for his Ford 650!!
 
Btowler I got your point. I understand that nothing is perfect

and you will have some bad units. Nothing and no one is perfect.



But it seems people are missing my point.



I don't know what more I could have done with them.

Heck, I even purchased another box!
 
What about the wiring harness for the EZ, did you ever send that to them for testing?? It seems like that may be a possible cause, as the box when disconnected would still work fine, but if the harness was bad then that makes the whole system bad. Just another thought..... Good luck!!
 
I see your side as well, I was just responding to skorski on that last one. If it was me, I would push till you get satisfaction. If it is due to the "big biz, small service" principle you may be out of luck. But for the money you spent, keep after them. I know it is frustrating, but you may just force the issue.



Kevin has a good point as well, send the harness back also. It is not that hard to remove/install, did mine in about 45 minutes. I am a little shocked at what you were charged for an install.
 
I have a bad back, I go in for some procedures Monday. So bending over like

that to put it in isn't an option for me. That is why I had to pay for the install. So I didn't mind paying them to do that for me.
 
Sorry about your back. I had a lamenectomy in 93, L5-S1. If they are talking surgery, go to a Neurosurgeon instead of an Orthopedic, I did and the results were great.
 
An update. I told you I also try to let people know when a company

does it right. Well EDGE did it RIGHT today!



They are going to ship me a complete new Juice with Attitude.

It is my choice to either install a complete new unit or just the box, or

the box and harness or any combination.



They are holding my credit card hostage until they get they old

stuff back and I am fine with that. Thats fair. :)



After talking to them for a little while I find out that the JWA is not

installed correctly! So once my back heals up a little more I will

just remove it and do the job right myself like I should have done

from the beginning. When will I ever learn.



A few things that make me happy with EDGE right now.

They sent me NEW stuff. So I know it's not my old box going back

getting checked out and being returned. I am more comfortable

with this idea.
