I had the TST installed today, and had it stacked with my Edge EZ that I have been running for almost 2 years. On TST settings 3-3, and Edge Setting on Level 4, If I roll into the thottle, it puts you back in the seat and has some nice smoke, but then around 2200 RPM, it will fall on it's face, almost like it's "dumping" the boost. It's like a hiccup, but then it will keep pulling, but not nearly as hard as before the hiccup... . Does this make sense to anyone? So what I am saying is that it pulls hard until the hiccup/miss, and after the hiccup/miss, it still pulls, but not hard at all, almost like stock.

The TST is plugged into the MAP sensor first.

All connections visible from top of engine checked for tightness.

Set TST to 0-0, same problem.

Set Edge to Level 2 instead of 4 while TST on 0-0, same problem.

Mike at Hot Rod Diesels thinks it may be running out of fuel, and at first I agreed, but after setting the EZ back to Level 2 and the TST to 0-0, I think something else is going on... . Anyone care to comment or lend some suggestions as to what the next step should be?

John

Forgot to mention that the Check Engine Light is on, but Mike told me that was due to not unhooking the battery prior to installing TST... . Also there is a little bit rougher idle.

Thanks Again,

John

Did you try disconnecting the EZ and trying the TST by itself? I would try that and see if you can isolate the problem.

I'll give it a shot tomorrow... Thanks for the input :)

What codes are stored? Installing the TST wouldn't have set any codes - as long as the ignition wasn't on when it was done, the ECM had no power either way.

Pull the codes and see what the ECM is trying to tell you.

Another school of thought is that because the TST fuels based upon boost, that until you can hit 35 and hold it, That when the TST sees the boost fall off when the wastgate opens, then it pulls back fuel - Then the boost REALLY falls - causing the fuelling to let off as well, And back and forth in a matter of a second

After I put the TST boost elbow in - Tuned to 30lbs - I did not get the problem back until level 7 or so (used to be level 5) - Again a defueling when I hit the wastegate

I am sure there is a fix... Heck DON M. said he has the problem licked

Well will see --- (if you look at me and Sradke's dyno graphs, you will see a dip around 2200...

I will try to get my boost eblow tuned to 35 lbs and see if it helps

I will call TST and see if they can get me the Boost Elbow tuned to 30lbs... .

You can do it yourself - Just tighten the little allen head thing on the boost elbow - And take it for a test drive and you can hear the wastgate open

It took me like 3 test drives before I got it right at 30lbs

OK... I didn't know they were adjustable. Thanks TomeyGun :)

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? Sounds like mine on the higher settings when the FP drops below 2psi, measured post filter, pre-hp pump. Need to get a pusher installed.

FIXED :-laf

I looked up the codes, one was for Air Intake Temp Sensor, so I checked it... . It was unplugged. I plugged it back in and took it for a spin and with the EZ on Level 3 and the TST on 3-4, it pulls like a freight train :--) Nice little smoke show on the low end as well :D

Does it still have the 2200 rpm low spot?

or was the codes and the low spot two different problems?

Everything seems to be working nicely... . No low spot and the check engine light "should" go off within a few cycles.
