pillar mount.....

Where did you get the mount? Is that the one I have heard that is supposed to be coming out? I have the edge, but haven't installed it yet, kinda waiting for the mount for the 2nd gen.

Looks good, buy the way.

Matt

BLassiter, not trying to get off the subject but where did you get that carbon fiber steering wheel cover? and how much?

BLassiter,

Looks great! How do you like the performance?? How are the EGT's and Boost?? Did you have gauges on previously?? If so, what are the differences you are seeing now that the Edge has come to roost in your truck??

I have a Banks Powerpak installed but have considered the swap to the Edge... however, first thing I need ( want ) to do is swap out the HY35 turbo on my '02 to the HX35 found on the HO version. Want to move more air and have a more robust turbo to help support these power increases!

I would also like to know more about the steering wheel modification. . the leather on mine is about wore off from all the driving!

Good luck with the mods!

The mounts for the 2nd gen are definately out on ebay. I got my from my local mechanic that has done all my work. I'm not exactly sure where he got it but he purchased from a dealer he normally works with. Like any it had to be painted of course. Little fine tweeking here and there and it looks factory Oo.

The steering wheel cover is made by grant and bought at stylinconcepts. The only complaint I have about the cover is that it is well built but only covers like 3/4 of the steering wheel, its almost like a face plate. the backside of your steering wheel is still revealed, but not noticeable really from the in the cab, but you can feel it from how it switches from the plastic kinda face plate to the leather backside, other than that its a well designed fit and looks sweet. This is just my opinion.

No previous gauges. Level 5 is definately insane compared to what i am used to, it can definately push you back in the seat from the big gains of torque. I've ran it on all 5 modes just testing it, most normally running it on level 3, good hit of the throttle gets up about 800-900 egt and boost 10-15ish. Nothing much more. I don't plan on hitting it too hard until i get a better turbo, something kinda makes a thumping sound when i let off it after hitting it pretty hard. Any idea what this is? I think its just the turbo not being able to keep up but i could be totally wrong. The edge w/ attitude im running also has the turbo cool down soo i can turn my truck off and pull out the key and let the engine run for a desired egt or time to bring down the EGT. Great feature, most normally I let it run for 2 mins after I get out of the vehicle. Love this effect, anyone wants to get in and try to steal it and pushes the pedal, vehicle turns off, you can also do this yourself if you dont want it to run once u are getting ready to leave the vehicle, great security measure.

BLassiter,

Sounds like a great set up... the cool down timer and the ability to monitor fuel pressure is a great boon to us 24 valvers! Did you upgrade to a FASS or other lift pump?? Sorry, I forgot to read your signature line and see what you have done to the truck!

As to the turbo bark, it is a result of letting off on the accelerator while you are under load / or putting the hammer down and the turbo is spooled up! This is a bad thing for the turbo over the long haul. I also believe it can occur when you are taxing the turbine to the max of its "exhaust ability" and enough back pressure builds up to cause the compressor side of the turbo to stop or slow is spin as it tries to cram more air into the intake..... Bad thing!

If you have the automatic transmission, then you have the HY35 turbo which is smaller than the HX35 that the HO engine used. I am currently sourcing a new/used HX35 to swap out for my HY35. . I want to move more air too! Other good turbos would be the new Edge BB Jammer or the Borg Warner S300 unit. I have heard some good things about the Aurora turbo too!

Keep us all posted as to how things come along for you! Have you burned rubber yet or barked the rear tires under hard acceleration with the power level to 5 on your Edge??? If you have a good transmission upgrade you can really put the power down! I need to do a bit more work to my automatic but with some judicious use of the go peddle, I am doing ok. :D

You know, I keep thinking about upgrading to a '03-'04 truck with the full (4) doors, but everytime I do, I get that guilty conscience going... this '02 has served me well... . to the tune of 182,000+ miles with few hiccups. So, my loyalty to "Big Green" ( my '02 is green with the tan leather interior ) runs deep and my pride runs high! I love this truck!! :-laf

I dont have a FASS installed yet and kinda waiting to recooperate some funds =) I'm looking into the HPFP-95-1002 and which i could find a good deal on a HX35 turbo. Just dont have enough money to really wanna go with the Edge or Borg yet. Still hard when im in college. =)

I upgraded to the Juice with Attitude while we were at Indy(i was the guy doing the install at motel parking lot)I love the extra power over the E-Z that i was running. It will make heat pretty fast, especially if you have a heavy foot and are putting the smoke to a new mustang :D :D It tells me when i am being bad by chirping at me. :-laf :-laf

Unfortunately the deal for the free upgrade to Level 6, or "hot" is no longer offered and would cost 100 bucks to get the unlock code. I was wondering what people's opinions on the unlocked juice w/ attitude being worth the money or not?
