BLassiter,
Sounds like a great set up... the cool down timer and the ability to monitor fuel pressure is a great boon to us 24 valvers! Did you upgrade to a FASS or other lift pump?? Sorry, I forgot to read your signature line and see what you have done to the truck!
As to the turbo bark, it is a result of letting off on the accelerator while you are under load / or putting the hammer down and the turbo is spooled up! This is a bad thing for the turbo over the long haul. I also believe it can occur when you are taxing the turbine to the max of its "exhaust ability" and enough back pressure builds up to cause the compressor side of the turbo to stop or slow is spin as it tries to cram more air into the intake..... Bad thing!
If you have the automatic transmission, then you have the HY35 turbo which is smaller than the HX35 that the HO engine used. I am currently sourcing a new/used HX35 to swap out for my HY35. . I want to move more air too! Other good turbos would be the new Edge BB Jammer or the Borg Warner S300 unit. I have heard some good things about the Aurora turbo too!
Keep us all posted as to how things come along for you! Have you burned rubber yet or barked the rear tires under hard acceleration with the power level to 5 on your Edge??? If you have a good transmission upgrade you can really put the power down! I need to do a bit more work to my automatic but with some judicious use of the go peddle, I am doing ok.
You know, I keep thinking about upgrading to a '03-'04 truck with the full (4) doors, but everytime I do, I get that guilty conscience going... this '02 has served me well... . to the tune of 182,000+ miles with few hiccups. So, my loyalty to "Big Green" ( my '02 is green with the tan leather interior ) runs deep and my pride runs high! I love this truck!! :-laf
