hey guys I want to be very clear that I am a big supporter of Edge, they do make good products and have loved by comp on my 01 truck. I am just putting out a gripe about how long it has taken a company so large and making so much money to not only get a product out but moreso how unresponsive they have been to their customers thats all.

smokejunkie, I will say that time does help with the quality factor, but this is just stupid on how long Edge has taken to get the juice out. Like I said before, it took some time to get the Juice out for the 6. 0 and the D-max, guess what they still to this day have problems with both!

Danelle, who says that you have to put twins on your truck to use the TST? And the only way to blow up a turbo with the TST or even the Juice is to not overboost the turbo, dont let it get to hot, and try not to back out of the throttle while on high boost. High drive pressures and high egt's is what killed the earlier blown chargers.

Oh my I guess I would overboost the turbo. Who can practice all that self control on driving with all that throddle not me. In my experience it is the only way to drive the trucks. Heck thats why I don't drive autos and I can make the turbos bark like a dog on sticks too... ..... But oh the sound that airplane with twins, tst and other stuff I could never contain myself. Good thing my hubby is a mechanic!

dont take me the wrong way but once youve been to the top you can't go backwards... ... ... . The slope get more Oo. Oo. slippery!

First of all I dont speak for Edge, However I do know that they are very close to finishing the Juice/Attitude. I would think its better to release a product late and perfect than early with faults.

I'd imagine they are making every effort - wouldn't you think? So, if they are already going 100%, how much more can they do?

I'm a beta tester for the new 04. 5 unit. I'm waiting for my 4th beta box now. Apparently its a problem with who they got their last chips from (Motorola) and having to install a heater now to keep them at a certain temp. Otherwise my box would throw a few codes when it got cold out.

I'm sure Edge is as frustrated as I have become over the past 6 months. Taking the box off along with the monitor over and over again is getting old.

Answer a few ?'s!!! I dont think thats asking a whole lot from edge.

Danelle, I have the first box for the 600's from TST, I have never had a problem with the box and I love it. The one thing I did do when I first got is was take all of about 20 minutes and do some minor tweeking to the wastegate and all is good.

Just got this emai from Edge today.

The module we currently have on the market is adjustible 40-70hp. We do intend to release a different system with more power, We are in development on our Juice system for the 03-04 model and will release sometime this spring.

:-laf spring time... :-laf tomorrow... . next month :-laf... . ooooppps now they scrapped out the idea and are starting over :-laf ... . Well now you guys with 305/555's (in line) are just going to have to wait til after the 325/600's guys get thiers first  ... . you 325/600 guys better hope Cummins doesn't do some kind of change for 06 or you will be put second in line (but still in front of the 305/555 guys :D )... This feels like the movie "Ground Hog Day" :p ... .

Wasn't this the exact same discussion and topic this same time last year???? ...

I like my Edge EZ and in the past they have treated me right with a warrenty swap... but in the last 4 weeks, I have probably sent them probably 15 e-mails (same e-mail) about a technical issue with the EZ and they have not responded to one of them... . I know. . I know... call them, but the questions I asked were something I wanted a response in writing so I wouldn't forget anything and could ponder over them a couple times, so a call wouldn't do (I'm to bad at taking notes  )... .

So for now on, Edge is at the bottom of my pick list for any new "power boxes" they have had over 2 years to get this figured out and that should be more than enough time. Come on, if the company you worked for took more than a year to make a product you would be standing in the "bread/soup line"... . If edge was "strongly devoted" to the R&D of this box would be out by now...

But lets face it (from a business stand point), they already sell alot of EZ boxes (there HAS to be a MAJOR mark-up on that product) and of course the R&D for that box has been absorbed long ago so it has to be nothing but a HUGE money maker now... If they have been devoted to this box design try and figure out how much time they would actually have into it (03's came out [02. 5?]) so that is almost 2. 5 years of research??? Heck the price for this box would be outragous to be able to cover 2. 5 years of devoted R&D... .

they might almost have it "nailed down" by now... but now figure that after they get it the way they want it, then it is time to start looking for someone to sub out the manufacturing (or at least source the components from) before true production can start, and that is another delay in getting the product out the door...

Take this with a grain of salt, I am not upset or trying to upset anyone... but call a spade a spade and look at the facts... I hope the box comes out in the next 6 months and is the best thing since sliced bread, because they will have not excuses for it not to be... .

Why not call the vendor you bought the unit from? They made a profit selling you the box, so use some of that for technical support.

You guys have no idea how many people they have working on it over there. I've been there and seen it in action. If you're that hard up for a box, and you need it today, go buy it from one of the other vendors rather than ***** about who doesn't have one available. You saying that they aren't devoted to the R&D of getting it done is preposterous. You think they'd rather have all this time into a non-saleable product?

The company that I work for built there building and I due know how many people work there, there not building chips for just cummins they got cat dmax powerstrokes triton v8 and other gas vechicals and where duing a remodle in there know the kid I know that works for them said it shoed be out by the end of the year give it time it not like it easy

Because the box came from Edge, they sold it to the vendor for a profit, and the vendor sold it to me for a profit. I doubt this vendor I used would have a clue about the internals. When I bought it, I was new to the diesel market, basically a web search and bought it from nothing more than a middle man... and since I have learned more about the diesel market, I doubt I would use them again...

You are absolutely correct about a head count (I don't know), but if you say something will be on the market in a certain time frame then MAKE IT HAPPEN, or give a good reason for why it didn't; or just stand up and say "it is going to take more time then we thought and can't give a date" period. Don't just keep stringing along potential customers with empty dates, do you do this in your business? (NO), and if you did, you wouldn't be where you are today?? If they are having issues then say so and tell people that they don't know when it will be out, don't keep saying "right around the corner" and keep pushing that date out without any reason / indication.

All I am saying is shoot me straight (as a consumer) and you will have a loyal customer if I accept your answer, but stringing potential sales along doesn't make for a strong customer base.

Ultimately, it did come from Edge, but the reason that those dealers and distributors get the discount is to field questions like you likely have. The Edge tech guys are SUPPOSED to field questions from the dealer/distributors. Given that they are not so geared for end-user support (and I'd imagine will become less-so in the future), your dealer is your best bet. I'll also bet that you will get an answer by e-mail, but it might take a while ("15 e-mails (same e-mail)" might also be tracked and discarded as spam).

I can also tell you that the final programming of the map for that box happened back in November. We've had that final prototype on one of our trucks since then (and before) and haven't had any problems - but other people in other parts of the country are.

So would you rather them stick to the time frame and sell a potentially problematic box or wait until it's perfected? R&D is certainly an open ended process - and no one can say exactly when it will be done beforehand. That is probably a failing of theirs... we simply say it will be ready when the testing is done.

This thread is starting to sound to me like way too many people with way too much money and way too little common sense. It also sounds like almost no one has ever run a real business and no one has ever undertaken a major product development.

My suggestion is to keep quite and be thought a fool rather than open your mouth and remove all doubt. When you know what a register is and have listened to your attorney discuss liability then go start your own Chip Company! Till then, keep your discontent where the sun don’t shine so you don’t upset guys like me! After all, you are only a couple out of thousands of us CTD'ers.

I have never seen any problems with TST boxes either. I am not saying its a problem. Its a ADRENALINE RUSH... ... ... . However the box is capable of grenading turbos. We think that is a good thing!!!!!!!!!! The tst is remarkable on an third gen with twins from PDR.....
