For quite a while now people have been on here talking about EDM's but it is mostly the 24V guys, there is very little if no talk about 12V stuff, seems most people just run some honed injector and I did that too.

A short time ago I had a talk with an injector guy about them, he said that he produced EDM's as well as honed injectors, we talked about most everything and even the people I was associated with, without any hesitation he said he would sell to me. We talked about pumps (size) usage (what I was doing) available air (what charger/s) and what I was after, we then decided on a set of EDM's that were maybe too big for the street with my pump but would definately make power. So the deal was made and I had them in hand and as I looked at them I thought (these are going to be too big) but to my surprise the street just fine, I then tested them at the D/FW dyno event and kicked off a 750 on #2 only, I drove down and returned home to OKC without one single change to the truck, mileage was 19 mpg and the next intown tank was 17 mpg, not bad for having just short of 800 hp on tap at all times. A special thanks goes out to Piers for the fuel pump and Brady Williams for the EDM's to make my years end goal of 750 on fuel and 800 with water without changing a thing... ... ..... more to come!

Jim

I've got a guy here locally that is just about ready to step up in power as he just got his transmission DTT'd, there are two different ideas I have for him either use his 180 pump or a swap for his 215 pump... ... up to him, then a set of the middle of the road EDM's and a B-1 and with his Snow water system I should be able to crank out some real good power and test James's transmission.

BOTW, there are several others on here that are running Brady's injectors but it's up to them to speak up.

Jim... good news on the Injectors. . good to hear

thread hijack

have you had any conversations with Piers about a 24 valve with one of his cams and the lobe for the 12 valve lift pump installed and if that supplied enough fuel for a 24 valve rig at or about 500/550 HP

maybe Piers will join in here :D ... . as I haven't yakked at him in a bit... and never thought of this when I was yakking with him . I'm doing some things after the first of the year and am thinking of the cam/ lobe. . but iff'in it isn't enough fuel supply for a VP then I need to rethink and look at Bill's rig up

I haven't talked to him about that but Jim Fuller has done it, I thought it would be fine you would just need to install a regulator to control pressure..... no big deal.

Jim

Jim, can you comment on smoke and EGTs?

Don M made EDM injectors for 12 valves but like you say since so many just go with 370s there wasn't much demand for them. Too bad. Unless you've tried them you don't know what you're missing. Don basically stopped doing them but I understand he will make them on a case-by-case basis if asked. I know I'll be asking him for a set eventually. I drove a 12V with a 175hp pump and a set of EDM 3. 0 and I was mightily impressed.

On the smoke there is a slight... . very slight increase at idle verses the 370's, cruise EGT's are real good at the 600-650 range while at 5-6 psi boost.

Keep in mind that my injectors are big even though they can be used on the street if the pump is setup right, timing, DV size ect. but there are 10 different versions of the 12V injectors and we haven't even started talking about 24V stuff yet.

Jim

Congrats, Jim, very impressive HP for street- what about torque? About time Brady gets some credit, he's a good man and really knows his craft.

I too have the injectors Jim is talking about :)

I will say I had the same reaction when I recieved them as to the size of the holes

But to my pleasant suprise they are very drivable. I don't have any hp numbers for you as of yet as I am currently building a shop and don't have the time to devote to the truck. I hope to get to the track before the end of the year.

To sum up Piers, Jim and Brady are on to something for the 12V guys, give Piers a call.

P. S. Piers sent these injectors down for me to "test" them, he ain't getting them back

Industrial Injection's number is 1-800-955-0476.

Yea I hear you about Brady getting some credit, I just had a guy call me yesterday to order a middle of the road set that just a got a little better so that will be a test for the smaller ones.

Mike your a good test with those injectors on a smaller pump, those would be too much for a single but work well with Twins.
