What effect will EDM 1. 5 injectors have on the cruise control behavior in the truck? I have got an itch for these EDM things but with lots of boring highway drives I still want cruise to work correctly.

Hey Fish

Just installed 1. 5s 2 weeks ago. . I love them, however I never use cruse control even though my commute is 80 miles a day.

I take it by your signature you don't use a timing/fueling box. I will try it out with and without the comp box on, at different settings also and let you know. I doubt there will be any issue.

I use cruse control with my 1. 5 EDM's with no problem. These injectors are great! lots more power & a little better milage too. Hard to beat that.

Jim, Bumping up the power means "more go" for the same about of pedal travel. It can make the cruise control a little too sensitive (surges).

I have EDM 1. 5's and with the comp box off the cruise control works fine. If I'm towing then the cruise control works fine with the comp box on! :)

Thanks allot guys. As always, this is a great gang of Diesel Ram owners who are always willing to help with observations and advice.

If I run a Boost Fooler and the 1. 5 EDM's and NO BOX how much risk do you think there will be of starting to trash/slip the clutch (if I don't push it too hard in the lower speeds)?

I'm not so interested in street racing as I am having more feel-good punch and "guts" after I'm already up to 20 or 30 MPH and at highway speeds.

You don't have to worry about the cruise control anymore. All you need to do is put a needle valve in the vacuum line going to the cruise servo. Then turn it down untill the surging is gone. All the needle valve is doing is cutting down on the vacuum thus making the servo activate slower. :)

OR Try this... ... ... .

Take a plastic tube from a spray can (WD40) or something similar. Cut off one inch of the tube. Insert it in the vacuum line going to the cruise servo and drive happy.

(OH yeah, it was not my original idea, but I forget who told me. )
