So, I am on the hunt for new injectors to go with my new B1 turbo which I will be purchasing next month, but trying to do all the research I can on which injectors to get.

I can get a good deal on either a set of basic Bosch 370s or a set of EDMs. Can anyone tell me more about the EDMs like what they are, how they are different than 370s and why they would be better than the 370s according to some people?

I have read all I can read on 370s and how they just dump the fuel in and are basically designed for a marine Cummins with a much larger fuel bowl. But on the EDMs I hear they have better effiecient fuel spray and flow just as much fuel as the 370s. A lot of people run the 370s and like 'em a lot but I am hesitant on that choice due to the spray pattern compared to what have only heard about the EDMs.

Anyway, let me hear what you guys have to say about your experience with either injector or what you think will be my best choice to go with for my next stage of bombing :)

Thanks in advance TDR!

Joe

The 370s are cheap fuel and easy to come by, but if i had to do it over again, i would have bought a set of edms insted and been done with it. Seems the bombin bug has turned bad habit.

The EDM 3s ran cooler & smoked less than the 300s. Absolutely amazing IMO.

I'd e-mail Don M ... but I'd be tempted to go straight for the EDM4s ... of course, depending on what B1 you're getting.

The 370's are for the marine engines. They are a great power addition. :D Picked up the mileage a little, too. You will definantely need the B1.

EDm if !!

If you can get the EDM for within $200 of the 370, I go EDMS, I went with nearly new DD2 ($315)because they were less than 1/2 the price of similar edms. But I am hoping there not a smoke issue with a PDR35-12. Time will tell.

I agree with bmoeller... my 370's were got for a great price... marine motor made or not the seat of the pants inprovement was. . :--) I would have opened the wallet and got edm's, but it is closed and it is saving for the DTT :D The low end response on the throttle with the 370's can't be told in print. Either way you go Joe you will love them.

Not all EDM's are created equal. I would make sure that you are getting a quality injector before you purchase them from just anybody. One name that come to mind is Brady Williams at Industrial Injection and of course Piers would be an option.

As far as the 370's, if you are willing to pay more to get more, I would definitely pass on the 370's.

From what I have been reading, Lenny at Dynomite Diesel has one heck of a set of injectors for our 12v's. They burn cleaner and produce more power than a 370, but they are about 2 times the cost of a set of 370's as well. You pay for what you get. If I was shopping for a set of injectors I would be looking very hard at a set of these.

FWIW - Last time I traded emails with Don, he is no longer producing anything for us 12v'ers.

i dont like my 370's b/c of the haze at idle. i bought them b/c i could not afford the edms if money is not a huge issue go with the edms. i dont mind smoke out of the pipe at wot but hazing at idle is embarrassing

Both carry EDM's now, I haven't tried the Piers versions but I hear real good things from them.

The Brady versions are what I run, they are bigger in hole dia than a 370 and have every trick done to them and aren't bad on the street considering the power potential but this is with 181 DV in the race pump and it will flow some sick fuel. He can build a smaller set 5x12 (same as 370's) but you can buy more tricks in them for the topend, spray pattern(tighter) is a big improvement of 370's but at a cost and I've seen both patterns with the head off, 370's are real hard to beat though and I'm running a set now for the breakin but I do have different pistons.

Thanks guys!

So on the EDMs, is it jut the tip and spray pattern that gives the better performance(mileage/power) over the 370s? How close are the flow rates between the two?

The B1 turbos I trying to decide between are the basic full B1 Bomber or the B1-2, both with wastegated turbine housings. Either one would be ideal, but its hard to decide between the listed spool speeds and how they would differ at all by the amount of fuel I will be moving with the injector choice I make. I am just curious to know if the spool speeds between the B1 and the B1-2 are really that noticeable with the EDMs or 370s and if so, what makes the 1-2 spool faster than the basic B1?
