Effects of tuner boxes on cats?

Does adding a tuner box (edge, BD, etc) do anything bad to your catalytic converter? I'm more worried about making it "glow" and starting a fire.

Ok on a serious note. I ran 5 different boxes on mine with the cat on over a period of 9 months or so. Never had any issues with the cat. When it was removed for cleaning, it looked normal I think.

That's what I wanted to know. My cat will eventually get yanked but I don't wan't to do it right away if I add a box.
