Ok, the time has come to reprogram my C&C, and it was recommended for me to try EFI Live tuning. I'm hoping I can reprogram my emissions and still keep them intact. My hope is that I can get rid of the glitch of surging during regen. I can't seem to get any support to find the glitch, so I'm hoping to get rid of it by using EFI Live. A couple of questions first, who is a reputable tuner that knows the Cummins well? There are many experianced tuners, and DMAX tuners are everywhere, are there any in SoCal that are good with the Cummins & EFI Live tuners. Will the EFI Live tuner rewrite the Emissions to allow the use of them with better performance with them intact? My 07 C&C has no warranty, extended warranty or emissions warranties, so I pay and play on my own anyway.

I haven't messed with the 6.7 tuning too much but I am not sure you will get what you want. While EFI Live had many adjustable tables I don't recall any that deal with a different tuning during regen.

Your best bet for removing the surge would probably be letting the DPF breath all the attic air it can.

As for tuners Les at Silver Bullet and ATP come to mind.

:{Comifornia will have something to say about that, it's not worth it here if you get caught. My C&C is concidered as a true commercial truck here, so it's even worse for me if caught. I'd love to delete it and remove the soot ridden EGR as well, oh well. :{

My son has done quite a few 6.7L Cummins with the EFILive programmer. But where we live all of the trucks have been deleted. I cry when I see a brand new 2015 truck deleted and all of the hardware going to a scrap dealer. Now with that being said most of the work done with EFILive has been done this way. The tuner is purchased and than you need to buy a licenses to install the program on the tuner. You than need to have someone with a lap top tune the truck for the EFILive. At least that is how it has worked on the last truck he did.

Now I do not think EFILive is a licenses product by CARB to sell in Kalifornia!

Forum B has much more information about EFI Live and people who can help you. I am sure a program can be customized for what you want to do.

Can you ask your Son, if they can rewrite regen programs with EFI Live.

I discuss this with him and he stated that there is a thread on TDR about EFI Live tuning. In the thread there is a gentlemen in Calf called Les at Silver Bullet Tuning. I have attached the link to the thread below. If this does not come up do a search for the thread, it is dated 08-22-12. He said to contact him and he is also on the EFI Live forum also.

Hope this helps?

I called ATP, but they are understaffed for thanksgiving week, so I might hear from them before then. I'm on the fence over autocal vrs V2 scan, I'm only looking for a mild tune increasing HP, but I'm after the surging issue when in regen, so the autocal seems the way go. My clutch can handle any mild tune with ease, it'll be nice to have some more power again, I miss my 04.5.

OK, I've ordered EFI Live Autocal from ATP (thanks AH64ID), although it will take awhile because of ground shipping, and I have to return it with the stock tune downloaded, I'll give updates if anyone is interested.

I've finally got the module, but noticed my Batts are weak. The voltage stays low for a few seconds before the Regulator (ECM) kicks in and sets off a double chime. So now I have to replace the battery's, I checked this morning, and rolling down the windows, my voltage drops below 11VDC. You can damage the ECM if you lose voltage when up/downloading. So it'll be another week before EFI Live gets installed. :mad:

The grids can do things like that to the batteries. What about going for a 20 minute drive and then parking and loading the software?

I though of that, but if the battery's are weak, isn't it time any way. I'll spend the next week working on it, taking my time with new Battery's installed. I have a trip planned for Parker AZ after Xmas with the 5ver so I'll have it done by then.

Ok, I finally had time to install my EFIlive. Although I only drove a couple of miles, (All I had time for) I immediately noticed that I didn't need to feather the throttle when engaging the clutch. As before, the C&C I test drove with the G56 stalled on me, and my truck would stall until now. I could not climb my drive way without feathering the throttle slipping the clutch a little or it would stall. I'll know more today, I'm driving 60 miles round trip empty. After Christmas, I'll be pulling my 5ver at @ 23K GCVW. I'll post some more a little later after I drive it today.

BTW, I installed the CSP5 selector switch at a location only I can reach and would be hard for the passenger to mess with, just in case someone got the earge to turn it, or my wife not realizing what she's switching.(She is always changing things without telling me what she's doing)

I always used second with my 04.5 without any trouble, I could even pull my boat out of water with just letting clutch out slowly in second. But with my C&C I always had to be careful leaving an intersection, it could stall anytime. So I did use first for the driveway since new due to the stalling issue. I could feel the difference immediately, so I just let clutch the out and go yesterday, so I experimented on the drive way and three out of three times no problem. I'll know more today.
