EGR again

Hi,

I have a friend down here in sunny AZ. Who lives in cold South Dakota and he asked me a to see if I could find out what would happen if he didn't clean his EGR valve untill he got back to SD.

Wanted to wait until he got to his own dealer. . He is pushing 67,000 miles now Thanks, Bob

I suspect he'll get a reminder in the EVIC to perform the service. Hit the road and use the ebrake all the time!

I just did the EGR maintenance on the 6. 7L early during holidays (~63500 mi, truck in FL, I'm in CA). I did not see much in to way of build-up/blockage in the system. The truck is used about 25% of the time towing a horse trailer (8-9K). One data point for you.

Mine was cleaned at about 65k miles. It was clean as a whistle when inspected but was cleaned as prescribed anyway. My truck is a C&C with the detuned engine and less emissions crap so it would probably be cleaner than the pickup versions but if a truck has been used as intended, for highway and towing use, it will probably be nearly as clean as mine was.

Yes, it's an every 67,500 mile service not just a one time affair.
